I'm wary about doing so, that's pushing it with stock rear suspension. TFL did the Ike Gauntlet with a 2400lb trailer The New Ford Bronco Takes On The World's Toughest Towing Test, And It REALLY Surprised Us! - YouTube

I was excited about getting a Bronco sometime down the road to replace the 4.7l V8 4Runner, but I'm pretty sure it can't match the Runner. V8 Runner pulls a 1706fb Winnebago 4k lbs fine over Ike and about the same 7.2 MPG the Bronco got with a low profile 2400lb trailer. Only 7.2 mpg towing a 2400lb low profile trailer in the Rockies?

Runner is plenty good offroad and can haul 4k lbs offroad with the ClassIV hitch it has. Bronco ClassII hitch I wouldn't trust going offroad, my trailer would tear that ClassII to pieces going through gullies.

Well you guys make your own decision, I'm disappointed the Bronco is a one-trick pony.
An aftermarket Class III attaching to the frame rails can't come soon enough.

Yep had the gauges on in the dash as I was driving. Was a little higher than normal driving, ~20 degrees but I only went 26 miles on a variety of roads. Doesn’t have tow haul mode so just had to manually shift down to keep it there but the transmission doesn’t have a way to reset to normal shifting, it just does it on it’s own. Maybe I’m missing something but I like to be able to switch back and forth from manual shifting for steep mountain downgrades
so does it not have the up and down shift buttons line the F150? I never switch into purely manual, but I do use those to prevent it from shifting past a certain gear and then hit the up shift all the way to the highest gear to return to normal.

It does. It’s a bit different and was driving so didn’t happen to notice the big M that I needed to shift into. Then the up and down is a button on the side of the shift knob. I’m used to pushing sideways then up and down. Or just shift down.

Gotcha. I do wish it had tow/haul mode so that it would do it for you in many situations when towing.

Looks like you had some sag - did it feel like that was that mostly from the height of the trailer as opposed to its weight?

It was weight. Trailer was 2400 lbs plus 11 people jumping up and down a lot. Only going 2 miles per hour so it did fine. Didn’t bottom out or get close and there were trucks with more sag basically sitting on their tires

Tested out the towing yesterday and in general it was great. Had to switch hitches to my weight distribution hitch since it is longer and the spare was in the way for my short trip hitch. Found out it has sway control. Didn’t add my brake controller because I couldn’t find the plug or maybe it’s different but the trailer weighs 2900 lbs so just under the required weight for needing one. I’ll get one added before I head into the mountains as it gives some good piece of mind.

1. What elevation are you at.
2. What were elevation gains
3. How was passing
4. What was average speed
5. How did trailer track?

Took it camping this weekend into the mountains and honestly handled great. I do have trailer brakes so that helps simple it down on the steep descends with winding roads. Still freaking cold at night and a storm came through so we made the most of it. Did remove the spare as it wasn’t going to work with now larger tires and zero offset. Need to more it up or to the side. Think JCOffroad has a side mount rear swing arm. Already put more drop and don’t care to use an extension.
