Anyone who does an hour of research on any purchase they make is going to generally have more knowledge of that product than a sales associate.

Case and point I taught my sales associate how to roll down the windows from the outside of my Honda, and roll them back up from the outside as well.

Not everyone cares about the G.O.A.T. modes or what the suspension differences are. Most don't care.
Well now I'm curious. How DO you roll (is this still the proper term for windows that don't have a crank handle?) The windows down from the outside of your Honda? I don't own one, I'm just wondering what PFM you have in your bag there....

If I were a Ford Salesman, I would hate Bronco customers to no end.

I really don't get the constant bugging of dealerships that I read about on the forum. Like someone already pointed out; there has been no money made off of the Bronco by a dealership yet. However, the news, probing, nerd inquiries and questions "can I just come and touch it?" BS, and the time lost doing the reservation has to be infuriating to them.

Going to your dealership, your relationship with your dealership, offering over MSRP, none of this is going to help you get your truck any faster, it's just showing OCD by many of the guys here. Please find something more constructive to do with your day instead of obsessing over this thing; it isn't healthy or cute at all.

Leave the dealerships alone, stop stalking your salesperson; they don't care about you. When you get your build date, then you can complete your transaction and just hope they don't hold all of the OCD crap against you when it's time for you to sit down with the finance guy.

I believe it's been mentioned before that a lot of salesmen and dealerships are getting fed up with the Bronco as they aren't making a dime off of them yet and without a commission to be made at this point they really aren't interested in catering to the multiple phone calls, emails and demands of reservation holders. Not saying all of them, and my salesman isn't one of them, but I can see this happening. My point is, perhaps Ford is releasing the info to the dealerships and maybe they just aren't interested enough to really pay attention or care about it? The bronco isn't everyone's favorite vehicle and it can be hard not to get tunnel vision on this forum. Again, it's not in Ford's best interest to leave their customer facing representatives without information or training so why would they intentionally withhold information? Your dealership probably just doesn't care enough to research unfortunately....
My local dealer, Stuckey Ford in Hollidaysburg PA is/was guilty of all of that. At one point I mentioned the term Bronco Specialist to the sales manager and he laughed and said “right”. Would never give me a price so I dropped them hard.

Is there any point in which Ford dealers are going to get educated on the Bronco? I've dealt with two different dealers during this process and thanks to this forum (as mostly a lurker), and I knew more than both of them. I've decided to convert my day 1 reservation to a 2022MY for various reasons and went to my dealer to do so today. They tried to tell me that I need to cancel my 2021 reservation and rebook a new 2022 reservation. Had I not been lurking this forum, I would have done just that, since the dealer is supposed to know what they're talking about. Luckily after "checking with their manager" for the third time, he agreed that I could convert my existing reservation to an order, but they wouldn't build it until 2022's are ready. When mentioned a code 99, he looked like a deer in headlights!

I feel like Ford has fumbled this thing from start to finish. If I haven't been wanting a Bronco since I was 4 years old, I would have been long gone by now.
I can only go by my experience. Mine tiny dealer with 17 orders and 1 allocation so far and they have been pretty much flawless. Oder transfer, order process, build schedule, delay update, order changes all good to go. I think dealers in general focus on what they have to sell that day or 30-60 days ahead, the Bronco, from both the initial ford approach, to the delays, wasn't in most dealers wheelhouse. Just saying it's not a ford only issue, but they certainly played their part :)

Lighten up. This is YOUR hobby, not theirs. As Amanda points out, sales folks and dealers aren't making squat yet. I've been OVER cautious about contact and questions, knowing that if I become a PITA, it'll bit me. Yes we know more. We've devoted a year to this for some...They're trying to sell what's out their window. Be kind.
Screw that, we are the customer and deserve better for our money. They are providing a service and they get paid to provide that service, so provide it. Know your product!

”Not making a dime”? They already have an $1100 deposit from me which must be used somehow within the dealership. Multiply that 30x for the converted orders at that dealer and I’d say they are making some money.

I cringe at the dealer/manufacturer business model, as a consumer. I loathe the process and I sometimes feel like the dealer is a speed bump rather than a helpful facilitator. All this said, it is the business model, like using a Realtor to get access to the MLS to sell a home. Some industries have gate keepers, and the dealers are gate keepers. At this point, the sales people have little financial interest as they might not get a Bronco on their lot, to sell, until deep into 2022 or even 2023. Their workforce is highly transient, turn over is high, professionalism is low. They want to sell you a car TODAY, not some mythical time in the future when they might not even be employed at the dealership.

My dealership is clueless too one sales person kept trying to tell me that I was getting a sport and didn't have a clue that the big bronco was even a vehicle. But thanks for Bronco Bg and the followers for the heads up on everything!

Who have you paid? As far as I know, zero Broncos have been sold, so NOBODY has been paid shit yet, so getting uppity is just false bravado.

Right. They're interested in one thing: selling what's on their sales lot TODAY. Which is why they're always trying to talk you into a vehicle they have on-hand - whether it's the right vehicle for you or not. It's the right vehicle for THEM.

Hold the unlock button for windows down and sunroof open, up and sunroof closed is a little tricky as you have to insert the key from the fob into the door and turn and hold to lock the door. Needless to say I don't use the up/close function very often but it is there and handy when we don't want to get in the car and hit the start button twice to access the power.

$1,100??? Why so much? My reservation was for $100.... not enough to make my salesman give two $#!+$ about and they don't keep that money anyway. It gets applied towards my vehicle. You think they are rounding up these deposits and putting it in petty cash for a pineapple pizza party or something?

Most dealerships are supposed to have at least one sales rep that went through a Bronco training class, as well as contacts at Ford for any questions or situations that they're not aware of.
However, dealerships and salespeople in general, don't care or have the motivation to give a damn.
The Bronco isn't going to be what makes them bonuses or huge commission, so why even try? :(
Thank god my dealership has a smart rep whos job is only Broncos. does not work off of commission. always very helpful and well educated about the whole process. Ford is always changing things up on these guys ! tough for them to stay on top of everything.
