Went base model with samsquanch package.

no sweet disco sways as the cool kids say, nor the extra two mud and Baja goat modes....

realistically how much will I miss these? I heard the sway disconnect can be done with a few bolts and experience? And I get the impression goat modes are more like presets more than anything. Is this an accurate assumption or is this something I will end up regurting?

If you're not looking for the interior upgrades, then I wouldn't worry much. The Goat modes will probably help adjust traction control and the way the automatic transmission shifts. if you're going with the manual, then you are just missing out on some possible traction control adjustments and the luxury of the hydraulic sway bar disconnect.

Sounds like you know what you want and I don't think you'll regret not getting the extras.

E-disco is really nice. I've had it on two Jeeps and it's like a magic carpet on bad terrain.

Someone will chime in with "yeah, well, you can always add manual disconnects." That's true, but you'll almost never use them. I've overlanded a bunch, for over a decade. Guys with manual discos almost never get out, craw under their rig, disconnect, and zip tie the swaybar to the frame. They just don't. But when you can do it just by pressing a friggin' button on the dash? You use it all the time, and it's wonderful. I used it way more than my lockers.

Will you miss it? Probably not, if you haven't experienced it before. Just don't ride in somebody's rig that has it.

Your profile says Arizona, with more rocks than mud there, I'm trying to figure your thought process on this.

Even not doing KOH stuff, running into a rock slide on some county road isnt unheard of.

I did the same, (base/sas) wanted the lockers and beefier front axle. The rest I can do myself.

SAMSQUANCH?
do you mean MANSQUATCH or am I totally missing something.
BASE MANSQUATCH is a great choice no matter where you live. I decided BD because I love the washout as well as getting the mid package with some of the squatch stuff included.

It’s all up in the air. There’s a good possibility I get assigned out east with the army.

Base Squatch as well. Appalachian snow runner, not climbing rocks. All good with me...

base model 2.7 with samsquanch. My shitty 3rdgen Tacoma manual transmission really turned me off to a manual 4x4.

I went the other way. Started at Base but ordered a Badlands. Will I regret paying for all the extras that I probably won't use? Only time will tell.
