Yeah, Dan W. pointed that out at the bottom of the article. The Ford Authority article gets it right.

Yeah, I saw the article earlier and there was a hyperlink back to this thread that's been removed.

I'm guessing they called the 800 number and verified it themselves and didn't feel the need to credit an unofficial source.

If you go back and read the terms and conditions of all our Ford reservation agreements for the Bronco you will see that we have always had the right to change our dealer at the time of order:

from Section 2
"You will be required to select a dealer at the time of Reservation. Your information including name, address, e-mail address and vehicle configuration will be shared with the dealer you select. Your credit card information will not be shared. You will be asked to reconfirm this dealer at time of order or select a different dealer."

Since Ford moved the order period to the end of January 2021, the option to change your dealer to that time had to be moved as well.

Your reservation will not be impacted in any other way, including your Reservation ID and the time you placed your reservation.

Dealer change requests must occur before October 31, 2020. After that date dealer change requests will not be accepted.

As a reminder, you will be able to update any aspect of your selected Ford Bronco with the exception of changing to a First Edition (reservations are full) when you convert your reservation to an order with your Dealer beginning December 2020.

Terms and conditions of the reservation are part of the contract that Ford has made with reservation holders in exchange for the $100 consideration that was paid.

Contracts supersede emails. Apparently someone went back and read the terms and conditions of the agreement and clarified that the ability to change dealers needed to be consistent with what was agreed to.

That's my understanding. That's also my understanding is the last day you can place an order under the current reservations for a 2021 Bronco.
