Are you going to change up those wheels? Some basic steelies would look great.
Yeah I actually really dislike them. Steelies FTW. But probably not until it's lifted on 33s.

It came with 4 knobby mud tires on stock steelies, I was thinking of swapping them over but I'd like to have a 5th for the spare, it's all about the aesthetics. 🤣

Whooo got to experience my first rain in an open top vehicle. The top goes up surprisingly quickly with enough motivation.

Bronco ownership is going to be amazing.

Plot twist: @Tricky Dick just parked under an overpass to avoid the rain.

Samurai! So awesome.

There was a guy I know that worked at my gym back in the early 1990s that drove one. The guy was like 6 foot 4, 340 lbs bench press record holder. It was one of the funniest things seeing him drive that thing.

Those things are bullet proof. I thought they brought pretty good money still?

These things are so much fun, that's why I own two of em!

This Arizona rust free survivor has 31" tires, lockers front and rear, YJ suspension kit spring under, 1.6L EFI swap, t-case gears bumpers, winch, Tracker seats, stereo etc etc. It's too nice to wheel so I dedicated it to a street toy, a hilariously overkill street toy.

I recently picked up this trail beater machine that has EVERYTHING done to it like the white one, but still a carb'd 1.3 but on 33's for $1300! Heck, this one has a winch controller built into the shifter, onboard air and a CB radio too!

These little machines are a good time, are STUPID durable and attract attention everywhere they go. I'll always have room in my stable for these little gems, I'm going to teach my son, who is five, how to drive in the blue one and that will eventually be what he wheels on the trail.

Good luck with your endeavors!

Awesome! I'm already running through all the different build combinations possible. I'm envisioning turning it into the thing that will go the places I don't dare to drag the Bronco.

My current parts pile gives me a lot of flexibility to build too. Over the years I've managed to horde another set of Sami axles already setup for high steer and SPOA with one locker, a set of 4.10 Toyota 8"s, a Isuzu 4FB1 diesel and 5spd, a Mustang 3.8 bolted up to Jeep T19 and my choice of D18 or D20. All kinds of ideas there.

The standard YJ springs are the only certainty at this point.

That is pretty awesome. I rode in one once when I was younger. It was fun, but I remember it was seriously underpowered. How much did you end up spending? I dont think the wheels look that bad.

Yeah it's a complete dog. Maxes out at 65mph on flat ground. Luckily 90% of my use is below 40mph and it does much better there. It's going to get some sort of engine swap after the Bronco arrives.

I got it for 3k. Overpriced by about a grand IMO but such is life now.

That sounds like a deal to me. You cant even get an atv for 3000 anymore.

My 1.6 is dang near a rocket, does 70mph with ease in 5th gear even with the oversized tires. The YJ springs are a MUST, it ride so much better. Got to see one of those new fangled models while in Mexico as well...

It's funny, I wheel with a buddy and he can make it a challenge to follow him on 35's with this...

I took my Samurai with me to Moab and took it out tonight on Steel Bender. These crazy things so well on the trails! YJ SPOA and 33s. Hit all the hard lines with the exception of one vertical wall that needed more wheelbase!
