1/03/22 - The first day home was inspiring. I’m standing there staring in disbelief that the day had finally come, crunching down on a bag of Cheetos. Suddenly I noticed that the Cheetos lettering kinda matched the Cyber Orange, and realized that my Bronco’s name was not going to be the previously thought of “Short Bus”, but instead it would be CHEETO!

1/04/22 - Having seen the custom backlit letters from Oracle, I knew what I had to do next. I threw together a Photoshop preview:

1/05/22 - I ordered the white/amber backlit letters from Oracle, and it took four months for them to show up.

Meanwhile I had decided I’d paint the letters to match, so I ordered a paint system from Automotive Touchup.

When the letters arrived and I was ready to install, I first tested them, then masked off the backlit portion and attached some coffee stirrers so I’d have something to hold on to while painting. Then after a test spray, I did prep pads, 2 coats of adhesion promotor, 4 coats of ground color, 4 coats of mid (pearl) and 4 coats of clear. CHEETO letters are wired to AUX 6. While I had the grille off, I installed three amber LED lights from Partsam on Amazon. They had to be modified to cut notches allowing them to slip into the grille slots. I wired them to AUX 5, which already controlled the amber light option that I installed previously from M&R Automotive.

These lights are terrible to capture at night vs. in person, but you get the idea:

Love me some Cheeto! I[ve got a 2D CyberOrange on order that I plan to name Bumble - I'll be doing the front backlit letters as well. Once it's all together, I hope we can have a photoshoot with them!

6/25/22 - Unboxed and took the MORRFate TenSix for a spin. Quality seems great, more time and use will tell. Some product pics:

Note it's a hot day, and sun was right up and over from the passenger rear, so pressures make perfect sense.

Everything hooked up and pressures equalized:

I deflated for four minutes and had this:

Turned on engine and inflated for seven minutes:

I'll hook it back up tonight or in the early AM to equalize to 39 psi.

Edit to add:

The next morning I hooked the hoses back up, and the tires equalized right at damn near 39 psi on the gauge (While I was at the passenger rear, I plugged into the spare to equalize that as well). I let some air out until the gauge read 39.0 and checked the dash. Perfection:

7/15/22 - Mountains 2 Metal Overhead Squatch Basket installed.

I closed my Bestop this morning to discover that the top seems to be getting held up a bit in the middle, right where the Squatch Basket hardware is. I'll have to investigate if the interference is ok as is, or needs a fix.

7/15/22 - Boomba Racing Weighted Shift Knob.

The stock knob weighed in at 2.8 ounces.
The Boomba Racing knob weighed in at 8.7 ounces.

Driving impressions so far:

It feels a lot better in the hand, and the extra ~ 1/2" inch helps with comfort cruising up to 50mph in 4th gear with my arm on the armrest. The extra weight seem to take away some of the clunkiness of the shifting cables. So far I really like it.
