#SaveTheManuals indeed

What's the use of driving a toy like this if you can't row your own gears?

The thread for everyone's whose getting a manual

Welcome aboard!
This may be a good thread to start with a counter - those who are definitely getting a manual, those who are definitely getting an automatic, those who are leaning toward getting a manual, those who are completely undecided, those who are getting a manual depending on other factors, like engine choices, interior upgrades, special packages, special editions, etc.

I think an auto would be more livable day-to-day, especially if I'm going to try to talk my wife into it being her vehicle.

But fuck all that noise. I'm going to buy a manual because it exists and I want it to keep existing. Plus, there's nothing like rowing your own, especially on a turbo motor.

Engine choice is the only thing that could deter me from getting the manual.

If it comes down to 2.3 Manual or 2.7 (now rumored 3.0??) Auto only then I'm going to be real hung up.

Yeah, if the big motor only comes with auto I'll go auto. The 10 speed with paddle shift like in the raptor is not bad, but given the option of taking a manual I'd still prefer that.

The Getrag people already leaked that the new MT88 is only rated for 405lbft, so that would rule out the 3.5L, most performance minded hybrids, and various FI V6s and V8s.

I own a manual wrangler for my daily... wouldn’t even consider a Bronco for 1 second if it doesn’t come with a manual.
What if it was an automatic manual, like the new 'vette ???

lamest shit I ever heard

If I have this right, it is an automatic, no third pedal, but yet has dual-clutch set up, I read that as no torque convertor, computer controls it all you just pick the gear. Everyone here like all this high technology I'm just throwing out there what is out there and what you could have someday.

paddle shifter. "for the first time in the car's history, is a dual-clutch unit. The launch-control functionality and far quicker shifts of this new eight-speed would easily outperform that of a manual-equipped car" taken from C&D

Yes, you read correctly that the C8 has only one transmission option as of now: a new eight-speed dual clutch automatic co-developed with transmission specialist Tremec. You also read correctly that Chevrolet currently has no plans for a torque-converter automatic or a manual transmission. Thanks to modern technology, it's possible for both of those things to be true and for the C8 to get a stick shift.

just found this one ..... explains a little better I don't make this shit up 'outta the blue Isn't technology great.

here is the whole article if you care to read it ….
