if Toyota brought back a manual transmission removable top 4Runner with a new motor, I probably wouldn’t be on here.. Toyota should have stepped up with a competitor for the Wrangler. I want a removable top manual transmission 4x4 and my only options are a classic 4Runner/landcruiser/Bronco or a Wrangler.
That's why Ford's here, to shake everything up

I can tell you one thing, the manual transmission is a deal breaker for me. If this thing comes out the way it sounds like it will, with the 2.7 and a stick shift, count me in. If they go auto only, I will be purchasing a Gladiator...

I'll deal with a 2.3t if I have to, bit again, ideal is 2.7tt

I'm waiting to see what happens with the Bronco, then I know which 2dr to get, or if I trade my Ram "down" to a Gladiator Sport+

I also will Not buy an automatic Bronco.
If there were no Gladiator, I'd get a Taco

Who really wants an automatic for something like this?

I learned to drive manual on an 85 Toyota pickup. Always have been a Toyota fan. looked at Tacoma TRD pro Manual. Really wish they would still make manual 4runners.

I don't know why it is so hard for manufacturers to create stick shift cars anymore. I am sounding like an old man, and I am not quite there yet....

But I will say that a standard transmission is this country's best anti theft device...

They see it as a waste of money to develop because nobody buys them anymore.

EVs outsold manual transmissions in the USA last year.

Would the EV's of sold if the incentive's weren't there?

Automatics make warranty protection of the drivetrain a lot easier too. Torque management and fuel economy are easier to control, all the while providing a Toyota like driving experience--which sucks.
