I think they had a huge media blitz for this thing planned with all sorts of cool viral marketing campaigns, tie-in products, jokes, etc. then we got the Covid, Ford made ventilators no one needed and will wind up in a Ugandan warehouse next year, and now they're unsure if an economic downturn is the right time to start a push for a new model--so these stuttered reveals are coming off as cringey.
