That’s a part of Texas people either love or hate. I happen to love it out there because it’s so different from where I grew up in Missouri. Also back when the Terlingua Ghost town was more of a ghost town was just an awesome place to enjoy a drink with some of the quirky locals. It has become very touristy in the last 5 years.Resurrecting a pic from the first few days of ownership here back in November of '21.
This was in Big Bend, on Glen Springs Rd, near Black Gap Rd.

I’m just north of San Antonio and it’s still a solid 8 hr drive to get out there. Just too far for a 2 day weekend, or we’d be out there at least twice a year. We actually considered buying some desert near Terlingua at $500 an acre years back. Many people out there are living off grid and collect water from their roofs and/or buy it. Not much rain this year we’re in a severe drought.I loved it out there. So remote, quiet, peaceful.
We rode out there all day and didn't see another vehicle on any of those "roads" until 4-5 hours in, and that was down near River Rd. and the Boquillas crossing.
I would thoroughly enjoy going back time and time again, and actually would not mind at all living somewhere close enough to go often. Like somewhere between Ft. Stockton and San Antonio.
Maybe one day.
And yeah, the tourist influx I could see some evidence of, even though it's still really small and desolate, even in the towns nearby. The scarcity of water and sewer-type services towards Terlingua and Lajitas keeps it small, I think.
Definitely a place to get away from people for a few days. As long as you stay away from the whole Chisos Lodge area. Good for a visit, but my heart lies out in the expanses and emptiness where people aren't.

That color wrap is pretty nice!! Thanks for sharing with the forum.Forgot I had a picture of a wrapped Bronco I took a few months back. Nothing crazy like the winner's but I did have to do a double take and realize something looked "off" about it.
