From the email you got from Ford. The one about your build date. Usually 4 digits.

I haven't received an email yet from Ford which they too thought was odd considering they said a VIN had been created for my Bronco and they said a build date was created but for some reason they couldn't provide that information at that time....that's why I'm trying to track it on my own.

My order number did not appear in the email I got from Ford. I found my order number on the order sheet that my dealer made me sign.

MI, to OH, then to KY, then back to OH, then to IL. It needs to head south to LA.

Mine did the same thing OH, then to KY, then back to OH. Then get this, it went straight through Vegas when it was supposed to stop and off load. It went on to Los Angeles and now the UP tracker is broke for me. Crazy!

Same thing happened to me. It took almost two weeks for the handoff to Union Pacific at interchange.

Me as well. I think they pickup other Fords in Kentucky and there was a stop along the way somewhere that they picked up Hondas.

Nothing like that. Everything on a rail car is loaded at a single origin and unloaded at a single destination. It would add too much time to make a stop (several days added to transit) and the auto ramps are not set up to handle traffic like that.

I’m not as familiar with CSX’s network but my guess is they don’t have a routing to take vehicles straight from Detroit to Chicago for interchange. So they have to travel southeast to get them onto trains headed the right way. It’s like when you book an airline ticket but you have to fly past your destination to get to the airline hub and backtrack to get where you are going on the next flight.

There is an auto ramp located just outside of Baton Rouge that is operated by the UP. I’m sure that’s where your Bronco is headed. Once it gets through Chicago it’s a fairly straight shot south. Shouldn’t take too long.
