You would be going through the Ford customer service desk. How would SAC have a say in the matter?

You'd need to direct that too one of the local dealer reps. Not sure how it why they would do that. Refuse a certain price deal, yeah, that I can understand, but a sale, no way.

I spoke to Stephens on the phone yesterday. I have an early morning July 14 reservation with them and John said I was number 92 out of about 350. He said there were about 10 cancellations before me, so that puts me at #82 with a reservation made in the first 10-11 hours of launch.

Being 82 when they only get 70 allocations places me in MY22 which is a disaster for me. Unfortunately based upon this it seems like Stephens is under-allocated relative to other dealers. Never would dream an early morning 7/14 puts me in MY22. :(
Based on what I am seeing online, comparing the earlier projected production numbers to various allocations of other dealers, I believe we're all coming up short on our allocations. I don't think Ford is producing the number we thought they would. There's been many analysis (since Jan 13) that have stated that those with a 8/15 timestamp (and it's looking like some with an 7/14) won't be getting a MY21 unless there's a high level of attrition from folks cancelling, deferring to MY22 or failing to order (without cancelling). I am not sure if that's true or not.

So are you sticking with SAC or looking to switch dealers? He told me he was confident they’d actually get a much higher number after things shakes out.
I don't know if I would you use the word "much", but I feel our allocation will be higher based on the number of conversions.

Thanks for the update John!
I was always going to be a MY22 so just learning as we go.

Sounds like the 2.7 is a constrained item now, I would assume they will have this sorted out in short order since it is a main component of the truck.

Question:
Could orders get bumped down the line unless they change to the 2.3? How does this figure in if out of the 70 allocated 35 want a 2.7 and Ford runs out?

Guessing the answer to if you can actually get a 2.7 may be based on your time stamp. If Ford uses up all the 2.7 engines prior to your time stamp / build even though you may be in the first allocation you may have to wait??
If we only knew the numbers of 2.3 vs. 2.7, we'd be able to really answer that question. One must assume that there's a limited number of everything and everything is related to the original reservation builds. How many people ordered "X" and "Y" determined the pre-planning for production. By switching from "X" to "Y", it could short "Y" and make that a late availability item.

How many orders do you plan on entering per day, once the order banks open up?

As many as I can get the General Manager to do, standing behind him with a whip in my hand and not allowing him to eat lunch.

Our original offer still stands through the March 19 switch deadline, unless management changes that. So, regardless of MY21 or MY22, as long as Ford is taking reservations or allowing folks to switch, we'll be sticking with our offer - again, as long as management doesn't stop it.

John,

apologies if this has already been answered - how will order placement work?
Are you working down your list in order of time stamp and contacting us individually?
will we simply be sending you the PDF of our build and price configuration?
