These roof panels are garbage and Ford should be ashamed of themselves.

Took my Bronco in several times for wind noise coming through the roof panels, especially on cold days. After several trips and a TSB, the noise is now 10X worse than before. I get a super annoying whistling noise coming from 3 or 4 areas. My son has to wear headphones whenever he is in, and the family refuses to do any trips for more than 30 mins. (I can't blame them!) All the dealership can do is escalate the issue to Ford corporate and wait. It's been 2 months now with no word, and the service shop just throws their hands up. I see a bunch of threads of people spending time and money trying to fix their own issues with the top. What a shitty product.

Edit: Video added for all the haters.

There are a series of steps to fix this:
  1. Enlist in the military
  2. Get a job around Arty or EOD or jets
  3. Ensure you get leadership that doesn't give you proper PPE nor the time to properly use it (easiest part)
  4. Eventually, the resulting hearing loss will eliminate most of it and the remaining wind noise just kinda harmonizes beautifully with the tinnitus.

With multiple panels, multiple seals, frameless windows etc. you run that risk. Mine is a 23 with 7800 miles on it, the more I have taken the tops off the more random they get on cold and windy days, there will never be a true 100% perfect seal unfortunately but I also know and expect that. I had my tops and doors off for 6 months, just put them back on the other week. You'd think all the gaskets would swell back up and seal tight, wrong, it's the same as it was from the beginning.

We have replaced many seals for customers, some fix it, some stay the same and others wish we had never messed with it.

What you can do is add a light bar if you don't have one, you'll forget about the top whistles here and there. I have one so IYKYK.

That’s how bad my top was when I first got my Bronco. Removed and adjusted everything and I finally was able to get it much quieter.

I went from having to wear noise canceling headphones to being able to do a comfortable 12 hours in it.

It wasn't until I actually removed the top that I was able to get it quiet (actually had it off for 6 months prior to reinstalling it which may or may not have been a factor).

Ford doesn't feel shame... That top is the best recycled cardboard Webesto could supply.

Working USAF flight line will also establish a good case of Tinnitus, ask me how I know, and no it didn't harmonize!

Or other option ... the real reason for all the audio system upgrades ... to drown out the loud hardtop.

I've had a similar battle with a soft top. In the end I had to press press press and finally they got it right on the 3rd top.

We should all take readings of our interior noise volume, just to start setting a baseline.
Is there an app for that??

Both my MIC 2dr and softy 4dr (that I had for a short while) , I felt were OK in the noise department ... for what they are.
We have done several multi-day high mileage road trips in each and really haven't had an issue .... summer or winter.
That being said, there ave been a few tips posted that I'd like to try that seem plausible in lowering the db's.

I've just learned to accept it. I am also fortunate if I have a long highway drive I can take my F-150. This should not be your only vehicle. Ideally a second/third if single or not. If it you and your wife, make sure she has a vehicle with a real roof for long trips. And, some can live with the driving cross country with the Bronco. Is what it is.

I don't have a problem unless it's a windy day on the highway.

I understand wanting better quality but I imagine it's just the nature of the beast when it's a multi piece removable design. I've seen many convertibles driving down the road with the top looking like a balloon, it's more common in cheaper brands so I assume it's what comes with having a drop top.

What’s funny is I also own a Hummer EV with frameless windows and removable roof panels. Other Hummer owners complain about the wind noise. I’m like…it’s quiet AF, You should ride in my Bronco!!!
