This thing with the recon package is pretty badass, but it is literally 2x the price of the base Sasquatch that i have ordered. I can’t spend that kind of money for an off road rig…I’m just a peasant, lol.

Dude that is nuts. A guy I ride with spent over 65 on his rubi gladiator and I thought that was steep. Definitely legitimizes some of the corner cutting Ford did with the bronco. Its definitely a value when compared to some of the others.

I believe motortrend did a 4.2 0-60 in the wrangler 392. That is stupid fast as my best in my challenger 392 is a 4.5, granted mine is a manual.

honestly though 75 grand is just nuts, I would like to have one of course but a 5.7 HEMI would be a much better idea for the wrangler imo.

The 392 is pricey, but is it out of line? Isn't a loaded 4 door Bronco $60k or so? I think a loaded non-392 Wrangler Rubicon can get up to $65k. So from that point of view; a 392 for $75k doesn't look that bad. I think you get some suspension improvements on the 392, the special hood/ water deflecting thing, I think bead-lock ready wheels, and of course a factory warranty, instead of shelling out $25k or more to a customizer for a Wrangler V8. Maybe the 392 price isn't too bad?

I have a FE coming in it’s $62560 MSRP which is what I’m paying. I planned on doing an intake tune and exhaust. Until I realized the 10R60 is only rated for 424 max TQ. If I really want to turn the power up and build it to have 450-500hp I’d have to do turbos and probably a trans putting me well over $7000 so total build before a lift I’m at $70000Ish. I also have a 392 wrangler coming in sticker price $81610 a very good dealer outside of philly offered me under invoice and it’s around $71000. The price seems outrageous but for what you get it would be around the same as fully building a bronco.

So, lets play devil's advocate... Hennessey is putting on intake, exhaust, and tuning mods to make 500 ft/lbs of torque and 400 HP, with no transmission modification and a 36k warranty. So, if that's legitimately possible, then the 2.7 could keep up with the naturally aspirated 3.92.

I might add that if Hennessey could pull that off, then I believe that I could make it work with up to the 450 ft/lbs of torque and probably 500+ hp with the right turbo and some compromise to low end torque.

The left and right limits are torque and rpm... HP is just a function of Torque and RPM. There is a maximum to Torque and there is a maximum to RPM, the peak intersection of both is HP.

If you can make 424 ft/lbs of torque at 6250 RPM, then you will make 500+ HP. So even if you limit Torque to 424 Ft/lbs at any RPM and limit RPM to 6500 RPM (both doable), you can exceed 500 HP.

Am I doing the fabrication and tuning, or am I paying someone else?

It makes a huge difference. The cost is minimal if I am doing it and not charging myself labor. Even if I had some friends do the fabrication, it would not be nearly as expensive. However, that's not entirely fair.

The bottom line is that the fabrication is not particularly expensive and the tuning is not exactly difficult. However, retail is probably 2x-4x more expensive than the individual capable of doing it themselves.
