Tell me you're from the Midwest without telling me you're from the Midwest? I keep a bag of ice melt in the car as well, if needed to get traction somewhere.
I'm Deep South, from the great sovereign State of Alabama, but we think the same; trust me. That Ice melt is smart. In winter, I carry a small bag of kitty litter in case I get stuck on ice.

I don't own no cat neither!

Keep it and drive it. I had a 2011 6.7 F350 dually break the crank at 57,000. Ford replaced engine, extended my warranty and had no further issues and drove it to 178,000 and sold it. It happens.

If you're not in a rush for cash, part it out! There will be a HIGH demand for spare parts. Hell, if you have a soft top and non-sas Fender Flares, I'll buy those suckers right now!

And another one bites the dust. Glad mpeugot is trying to put together a list with data to see what this issue looks like. I’ve heard of at least 3-4 on here, maybe more.

I’d get 5-6 bids (Carvanna, carmax, local dealer) and sell to the highest bidder. In my case, I’d trade it to save sales tax.

it does not sound like you can be reeled in. I’d sell it and regain the mental space.
I sold a car to Carvanna, it worked out well. I got my first offer from them, it was OK. But, was was not in hurry to sell. I had them update my offer about three weeks later. It was considerably higher, I sold it. Might be a way to get their best offer.

Are you willing to share the VIN number or the original motor serial number. I am trying to determine what engines are at risk - I currently have a small range, but need more data. (It will also help you assure yourself that the replacement engine is not in the serial number range of those blowing up). I can get the motor serial number from the VIN.
Mind sharing high end of range so far? Believe I’m 21196. Know there’s one documented at 21160 correct?

Date range is unknown to be certain, but there is one at 21209 (Dates 21160-21209).
I am more concerned with sequence number (right now Sequence # 120068-120300)

And sequence follows date range??

I believe that they are independent of each other. I suspect, but can't prove, date range just happens to be the date the motor was finished, sequence is the actually who assembly of parts when they were put together. This is because LIMA was idled this past spring and summer for an extended period of time (likely why the 2.7 became a constraint problem). It's also possible that there is a different numbering scheme (like 000-999) motors per day, but that doesn't seem to make sense either. Someone @Ford Motor Company knows the answer, but they refuse to contribute any information to us plebes.
