I didnt really notice when it stopped working... but now everytime I stop I just get the little gray with a slash icon on the dash indicating that auto stop start is not available.

I initially thought it might be because it was hot, but today I was driving with the AC off and it was 70 degrees out, and still wasnt active.

Now that I think about it... the doors were off, is it possible that auto stop start doesnt function with the doors off? I took them off about 2 months ago and havent looked back.

That’s the extent of my troubleshooting knowledge. Good luck, or maybe not good luck and you just saved yourself having to buy the auto start/stop disable

The grey icon means there is a fault not letting the auto stop/start work. An abs code set can cause this error.

Not necessarily. The grey icon just means it hasn’t met all conditions to activate auto start stop. Could be a lot of reasons, even when no fault is detected.

Auto start stop will not work when there is a door open.

I think this is the answer, no doors = no stop start. Wierd, but it explains it
I just edited my post with a picture from the owners manual showing certain things that can prevent it.

My choice of words were not great. conditions not met certainly sums it up better than fault. 👍

Did you get this resolved? Same issue here. Stopped working. Thought it was because I had removed doors. Vitiated dealer. No codes, no ideas. Doors back on. Still greyed out / inoperable.

nope, no solution. it kept not working when I reinstalled the doors.
but then started working again, even with doors off.

this issue and the intermittent parking brake failure on startup might be related for me? but I have no faith that a dealer can fix either since it happens intermittment. Hard to demonstrate it, or for them to know its been fixed. and I dont want the dealer to just go fishing around in my dash seeing how many rattles they can create in the process.

Mine stopped worked when I took my doors off, but starting working again a few drives after I put them back on for the hot Phoenix summers. Once it got really hot it stopped working again, unless it’s cool in the morning. There are a few threads about this issue as well as a “hill assist error” that triggers on FordPass when the doors are off.
