I know there are lots of thoughts and impression threads, but I figured why not share mine.

The truck (this is no car) is absolutely bad ass. It looks bad ass and drives bad ass. No if ands or buts. I pretty much read every complaint thread here from when I joined to when I took delivery on Monday, and here are my thoughts weaving some of those in.

First, the wind/road noise. I do have the hard top with sound deadening, and I have a roof rack. Yesterday winds were easily 20mph plus here with gusts to 30mph and I was on I-95 in CT. I can honestly say with the B&O system going, I barely gave it a thought, other than to give it a thought to see if it was something that was bothering me. It doesn't. Now my A4 was not a quiet car. The engine and road noise for whatever reason were QUITE audible so maybe I am just used to it but this was a nothing burger IMHO if anyone is looking to buy and is concerned. Even with the radio off, it wasn't a thing for me.

Second, Sirius XM disruption. I put a long post in the thread on this, long and short of it is, very much depends on tree coverage. The highway driving was no issue.

Third, the drive/engine with the 7 speed MT. I have had a manual Audi A4 since 2006, with this last one I sold for 6 years. That car was pretty sleek and accelerated fast especially out of 2nd gear which I could get to 60mph and not red line. At first with the truck, I was like damn, this thing doesn't move, until I realized that in fact, I was moving and getting to speed pretty decently, and in fact, I didn't need to gun it to get what I needed out of it. I've been babying the acceleration and driving like a grandma, but the gears are smooth, the acceleration is pleasant, and I didn't even put her into 6 yesterday. As to the crawl gear, I thought I would enjoy it more in traffic and the garages. I'm mixed on it. Def. helps in the garages, but in traffic, you simply are too limited on speed to be really useful. I'm sure skiing this winter it will be a true help in parking lots.

Fourth, build quality and comfort. So I def. get the complaints about the inside being plasticky and easily scuffed etc. There are a few things that it came with from the factory I'm trying to ignore, but there is no doubt the inside is going to get roughed up on door panels etc. I'm going to have to get over that fast and try to remember it's property and the scuffs and stuff is signs it's being used and making memories. Easier typed than done. That being said, I do love the yellow stiching and leather seat package. It's very comfortable and looks top notch. Still trying to find the best seat position. I LOVE how high up I am now, it's just a totally different view. On the 33's, you can DEF feel the bumps, but the drive is still lovely. I'm smiling the entire time.

Fifth technology. This may be biased because I have been in the same car since 2018 that didn't have any of the voice commands (at least ones that worked well), car play, assistants, apps etc that the modern cars do, but the infotainment on the Bronco is sick. I love the 12 inch screen, ease of use, the navigation (I don't use ways) is so perfect and not annoying, even the lady on the nav sounds like my Audi, which is a nice throwback for me. I love how the screen allows nav to be on the side and the music etc as the main part of the screen. NAV is till plenty big even if it's not the main screen and turn by turn is so clear. The voice commands rock, I love telling the car what I want. She listens very well! I'm still getting into using apps through wifi etc, I haven't done it yet. Now, everyone's favorite subject is the dash screen. Well, I have it in calm mode with just speedometer and RPM and I can say it's fine for me. I get it, Ford wanted to have the classic speedometer in the original bronco, and people want more in front of them than two redundant speedometers, but that 12 inch screen in the middle of the car takes all that away for me, I'm happy. I'm also fine with the RPM counter, it works for me. A lot of this is all personal preference.

Sixth climate control, nobs etc. This all seems very well designed. I love the layout the placement of nobs etc. The HVAC is powerful up front, it's been 92 with heat indexes over 100 and the car is cold and I'm not blasting anything. Auto works great. I haven't sat in back, I did find the floor vents and have extensions to add on them, I will be trying that out today, but the cabin is so big and airy, I can't image the front vents which there are so many doesn't keep the car good.

Any big negatives? Yes, one. Interior lighting is pitiful. But I just ordered a new dome light to install, and I'm going to try this one myself. It should help a lot especially in the back. Also, it's kind of sad Ford still has roof issues, but the dealer informs me Ford is shipping me a new modular roof, so I can't complain the service was excellent to correct it right off the bat. For those who didn't read my other posts, the roof is wrinkled, it just wasn't made correctly and had scars on it too.

Miscellaneous? I just really love it so much. The truck screams don't mess with me bro, and now with the fog lights in the bumper it just looks so powerful and ready for anything. I cannot wait to take this skiing, load the family in with tons of bags throw the 4 sets of skis on top and just go. Nothing is going to get in that trucks way, except me maybe not wanting to take it out of the garage and keeping her brand new :)

Love this review and very happy for you! I definitely feel the cheap plastic part and was thinking of seeing what an upholstery shop could do to spruce it up. Then I realized how dirty it all gets with my two dogs and mud from off roading and realized it would prolly suck to have a nice interior always dirty and hairy. We’ll see if I eventually cave.

Any way, glad you love your ride and stay safe!

This is an excellent review and I couldn’t agree more. Your description organizes the exact same impressions I had after switching to a 23 Badlands from a 2012 V8 M3 (w/ Borla ATAK). I question the auto ownership history of anyone that’s complaining about road noise in a hard top Bronco.

Great post! Waiting on my Bronco, and I’m not worried about road noise either. I’ve had convertibles, SUVs, and sports cars before. Quiet is boring.

Update:

Found a very cool feature which helps with the SiriusXM disruption. Today when I went into the garage the signal dropped out and on the screen, it offered me to play through internet. I figured, no way this works without me doing something on my phone, but as is turns out, it started to seamlessly play the XM Station through the internet with no signal to the car. LOVE IT!

Car is now a month old, here is a follow up to my initial thoughts:

Essentially, everything I loved about this truck I still love, and the things I don't I have worked through. The satellite issue was really annoying, but I am able to play almost all the stations disruption free through the car internet. Pretty cool and crazy. By either selecting "start over" or "play through internet" I have eliminated all satellite disruptions.

The inside lighting I have fixed by installing a new dome light, by myself! (pats himself on the back) and that is much better, although I would like more.

The only gripe I have left is well, I just don't want her to get used. I'm only at 620 miles, not going on any highways and babying her every chance I get. I love the new car smell, and I love how clean and perfect she looks. I haven't even used the wipers, avoiding any driving days when it rains. Eventually ski season will be here and I'm going to have to rip off the band aid. But for now, I'm just going to keep on keeping on.

Car is now 8 months old. Bought it for big ski trips in the winter and we had 6 trips to Vermont starting in December, totaling 17 ski days.

One word for the experience. AWESOME. Some highlights:

1) First trip up to Mount Snow 1st week of December after two big storms. GPS gave me a traffic warning right before the mountain and rerouted me. Took me into an insane unplowed back road I don't know why. Had to stop the car, put it into slippery mode, and never looked back. Not sure why I was re-routed like that but there was up to 12inches of unplowed snow, and it was like nothing was there.

2) Second Trip up to Mount Snow end of January. Hit a Thunderstorm in Holyoke and followed it to the VT border where it instantly turned to heavy accumulating snow. Roads went to ice in a blink of an eye, cars going off the road everywhere even several into telephone poles right before the resort. Not Bronc. Put her into auto 4WD and only had one slip when I accelerated too fast. Didn't need slippery mode. Visibilities were down to nothing, flipped on all my auxiliary switches to the fogs, and it was a life saver. Headlights were frozen over and useless. @SPVPARTS thank you again

3) Presidents' day up to Killington. 60-70MPH winds and snow and ice everywhere. Going up the access road had to throw her again into slippery mode. Plenty of cars not making it up. Didn't even blink.

4) Last Thursday on my way to Okemo daughter had to use restroom very badly. Was almost to the mountain following gps and got another random road re-route. Not learning my lesson, right before the turn to Jackson Gore, took me onto a side road that was completely mudded over and rutted. If I wasn't so distracted, never would have fallen for that again. Didn't realize what I was in and started slipping everywhere. Threw it into auto 4wd but was NOT enough and then remembered Mud and Ruts mode. WAS INSANE!!! Could not believe the difference. Did a fast u turn in the mud and got out of that so fast. Could not believe how useful the mode was.

On top of all this, not ever a trip where we couldn't pack everything we wanted and had four pairs of skis on the roof rack with room still for 2 more sets.

LOVE THIS TRUCK!!!

Great assessment of the truck! One of my dislikes is that the seat belt height is not adjustable and the dang thing cuts into my neck in the summer. I welcomed fall and collared coats. But I too LOVE my truck!

Did you just do the dome light or did you do the side lights too? Darkness is the norm for Pacific NW winters and the interior lights are "lacking" shall we say. The Maybett dome lights +the lights for the sides, though, are a MASSIVE improvement. First pic is after, second is before in the same spot in my driveway. They work great 98% of the time, but sometimes they seem to get confused and do not turn off when the doors close. They do shut down before the battery tanks, though.
