Now would be the time for an aftermarket company to produce hard tops available next year to make a lot of money.

I will gladly switch to a soft top with free prep kit! If they’d let me!

Sincerely,
Just a crapload of 2dr orders

Can you wait 1 or possibly 2 winters? If so, you are good. If not, I think you will be making a big mistake.
No problem. I'm super happy with this outcome considering...I asked for prep kit and they are delivering. I'm good. Soft top is not optimal in winter, but is livable and a fine trade off to get the vehicle and be ready when I can get a HT.

Second source?
I just got off the phone with the customer service line in the email - was told that they will continue to build 2 doors with the MIC carbonized gray top through 2021. Some 2 - doors might get pushed into 2022. I reserved mine in July 2020, I don't know how close to the front of the line that puts me. (I also ordered the Sasquatch which I believe will push things further back?)
Hint, hint?
MIC through 2021...
And after that?

Will they offer a soft top option for the 2-door in 2022?🤔

This is the first real setback that has me questioning staying on for the ride TBH. I am team body colored top all the way and I don't know that I want to live with a soft top thru the Midwest winter.

all 2 doors have the plumbing i think
Yes. Because all 2drs are hardtop only. There is no 2dr soft top available from the factory. If there were, a lot of us would be very happy Bronco owners much sooner.

I'm frustrated that when I converted my res to an order I went Soft Top, received an estimated build date of 7/5 (which we now know is going to be a plant closure) and now it's not possible for me to get the hard top prep kit.

Frankly that wiring should have been there from the start. How does it work for Jeeps that come with a soft top?

I'm more than okay with it. I just need a hard top for winter, and can deal with it for a while as long as I know I can get it at some point.
If the Bronco HVAC is anything like the Wrangler's, it should be oversized to compensate for soft top (or no top) heat loss. You'll probably be ok.

Who has the rights to make the standard non-fastback 2-door softtop? They need to get on it soon! It’s on my wishlist!🙏🏽

This was the bomb, no need to fear more bad news next week.
I'm one of those who will absolutely wait for the MOD top because for me, it's non-negotiable. That being said, is MY 23 going to be manufactured late next year or am I looking at calendar year 2023 or beyond?

Ford said from the get go you wouldn’t be scheduled until they have your parts on hand. Now can they go back on this, of course. In the auto industry “Subject to Change” is standard. With that said im confident your bronco won’t be pushed out.
I assume scheduling is done based on when parr’s are forecasted to land. They’re not holding stock of parts for 45-60 days. If those numbers that were forecasted don’t materialize then being pushed out can happen.
