This why if you go off road, have a spare tie rod no matter what the vehicle is!

It was never limited to Broncos. They were just the latest to the scene. I have seen this same issue come up with the ZR2 crowd since 2016. One simple solution was adding a sleeve to the inner tie rod and I have wheeled 79k miles without any steering issues whatsoever.

The problem is not knowing how to wheel a front locked IFS vehicle and using it outside of its realistic limitation. It certainly does not beat straight axle but wheeled the right way, these broncos go pretty far.

I was up there the day after. He had to be towed out by the rescue truck that welded the rebar

Looks like maybe they melted a hole in their outer CV boot too and it’s now leaking. Or perhaps separate issue.. in either case if you have tie rods on your vehicle you should carry spares
