They aren't. Read the tire again. It's a max load rating, not max pressure.
Also, in this pic, max load would be full payload rated weight, yes? So if 35Lbs is good for full load, 31 or 32 should be fine for solo commuting to work 🤷

35 PSI is the maximum tire pressure under the maximum tire load.

The tire is not under maximum load (2535 lbs).

Under stock configuration it is 1635 lbs maximum per front tire and 1535 lbs maximum per rear tire.
So 39psi is WAY over inflated if you're just driving solo, no cargo or passengers?

My BadSquatch was the same at 45 PSI.

All Fords are overinflated from the factory for being tied down during transport.
The dealer should PDI and check that and fluid levels before delivery.

I'm running 38 PSI.

No, it's the opposite. You can run higher pressures with less load.

In the case of the Bronco... if you completely max out the vehicles weight rating that is still ~4000lbs less that the maximum weight the tires can hold.

Tires are over inflated for several reasons:

- when it leaves the factory it could be months before the customer takes delivery so over inflation prevents flat-spotting.

- Also, the last thing the transport teams wants to do is to inflate tires when they are transporting cars from the lot to the rails then from the rails to a vehicle hauler.

When I take delivery of my cars, I always bring a tire gauge to adjust before I drive it home.

My SAS came with 45 psi from the factory so 🤷🏼‍♂️

Most come way overinflated from MAP. Dealer checks and adjusts upon delivery. At least they are supposed to, Its a line item in their checklist. That was on my preinspection checklist. I brought a tire gauge in with me at delivery.

I'm not getting your logic here...lol
Running higher pressures with less load risks wearing out the center of your tires from ballooning.
You 'can' run higher pressures, but why would you want to?
I think the general consensus is, manufacturers make sure you don't risk tire failure with low PSI with a loaded/overloaded truck.
Every see transport tire gators on the freeway? Wanna know what causes that? Lol
You're totally fine running the GY at 32psi...
If you're taking the fam on holidays, 5 passengers, 2 coolers and all the camping gear, you better run 35-39psi

I've taken delivery of vehicles with the tires at the max tire rated PSI (49psi), not the vehicle recommend psi. Probably like that from the factory....and someone paid for PDI that was likely never done
🤷

Yep. Not my first rodeo. That's why I brought a pressure gauge with me. For everyones info, Galpin set all 5 of my tires to 39 at delivery. Their PDI seemed pretty thorough.

That states that the max load single/dual (Broncos, of course, are all single) @ the recommended pressure (35 psi). So load of 1150kg per wheel/tire combo.
The line above states it is permissible to run up to 10 psi higher. Where the placard states see owner's manual, it may give you increased load capability info for the increased pressure, maybe not.

So, the tire and loading placard falls within that.

As far as them arriving with 45 or more psi, that is common for transportation. Sounds like they're not being PDI'd very well.

Naw, I just misunderstood the point you were trying to make.

I was just saying that 39 PSI is not over-inflated with less-than-max load based on the tire sidewall.

The owners manual states the cold inflation pressure should never be set lower than the recommended pressure on the vehicle label.
Well, that doesn't clear anything up!
Also says the max PSI on the tire is usually higher than what the manufacturer recommends (which obviously makes sense, because why would Ford use a tire and set a pressure higher than what the tire is capable of?)
Pages in the 370+ range of the owners manual....
There is also a "standard load" and extra load... class of metric designation. Basically, increasing pressure beyond a certain point won't increase load capacity. 🤷
