Haven't bought anything yet as I just got mine and with all of the issues with delivery, ADM, etc didn't want to "jinx" anything :ROFLMAO:

I currently have the TRM module, OEM hitch and OEM wiring plug/mounting plate on my list for when the 220K FordPass points hit. For much of the same reasons you mention, so that I have as stock of a final solution as possible. Dropped the Ford 4-pin adapter harness from the list after the Curt one came out that didn't require splicing wires. Ideally I'll be able to get the OEM TRM to work but will use the Curt module as backup if necessary. I need the +12V line and reverse line as well as the flat-4 wires for my trailer. Don't need the brake line as I'm using the Curt Echo BT brake controller.
Do you have the part numbers for the OEM TRM, plug and mounting plate?

Hoping I'm not asking something previously answered in this thread, but I read through the pages and don't think I saw anything...

I had my dealer order these parts (so I can use my FordPass points):
- MB3Z19D520A - Trailer Hitch Assembly
- FT1Z15A416A - Trailer Tow Wiring Kit

They are quoting me over 3 hours of labor, so around $460 for them to install. If it's something I can do myself I'd like to save the $ but I can't find any clear instructions on how to install just the hitch and 4-pin wiring kit (and level of difficulty for the wiring.) I'm also not clear on whether the hitch assembly or wiring kit includes the 4 pin plug (or 4/7 plug) that would go on the hitch so the wiring is not just dangling out there.

Any help or direction appreciated.
Read the instructions and see if you can handle it. It’s easy, but pretty involved. If your not familiar with auto wiring and panel clips…..

Thanks for posting. 44 simple steps!
I think me not breaking all the panel clips would the hardest part. 😁
Will have to calculate the value of my time, since I can see this taking up much of a weekend for me.

I'm assuming the use of the factory plug on the factory hitch.

@flip Do you know whether the hitch assembly (MB3Z19D520A) or wiring kit (FT1Z15A416A) includes the 4 pin plug (or 4/7 plug) that would go on the hitch so the wiring is not just dangling out there? Or would my dealer need to order more components to make this like a factory install?

The hitch kit has the bolts and the bottom plate in the pic above. The converter module F1TZ does have the flat 4 plug that fits into the plate.

Honestly, do the Curt converter and be done with it. We just had to loosen the left trim panel to snake the power and ground wires to the connector and ground screw.

Here's what I did:

- Called Stevens Auto Cetner service dept, said they have done several, used the Ford 4 pin accessory kit, parts $475, labor $120, total $595.
- Talked to TrickTrucks, said they've done a few also, quoted me parts and labor for $250.

Your question is a good one, I'd suggest talk to the dealer service department who can answer. Good move using FordPass points, I'll look into the same.

Learning this, and given that the Tow package is a constrained factory build item, I deleted from my order.

Thanks. I have my Bronco so this is a dealer option for me. Same $475 on parts, which is fine for me with the FordPass points. I don't get the sense that they have installed one of the yet on a Bronco (it's a small dealer) so the parts guy quoted 3.2 hours but I'll check with service when they actually receive the parts. I'm much better working with wood than I am with auto wiring so I'll probably just have them do it but hoping they can cut down the labor hours.

I found C201 and C105 and they are harness-harness connectors. They are behind the fender skin above the tire. You can see them with a mirror if you peer over the tubing that supports the fender or you can remove the flare and a few of the fender skirt fasteners and pull it down and see them from the wheel well side. Here are pictures of mine from below and then above. Note that on my base all the wires of interest go into C201 but do not come out the other side. Bummer, but at least all the fuses for those circuits are in place so I'm assuming they can be tapped off this connector.

What kind of connectors are these? And does anyone have the part numbers for the pins needed for them?

Below are the part numbers for the pins of C201 (for trailer brake output and running lights) but we'll need @flip to hook us up with the same info for C105 (for reverse lights circuit), if he'd be so kind.

Received the connector list for the male / female C201 connector. The female connector part# for the blue brake controller wire (position #16 of the connector) is F8VB-14474-AA. Doing a Google search I came up with this website for $0.39 ea, minimum 50 (about $19 before shipping):
https://nexelec.com/FCI-F8VB14474AA/
Below is the part# list from Flip for C201 individual pins

I need to preface this by saying I don't have a used C105 and am going off one similar to C201. I believe the terminals to be Molex MX150 series. Top is one I pulled from the connector, bottom is a loose Molex we keep for repairs. Molex MX are che-e-eap and can be found almost anywhere in different quantities.

This is a WDP connector but they don't make their own terminals. A lot of companies will use terminals from TE, Molex, Yazaki, Delphi in their housings.
