Anyone willing to trade a hardtop for my 4 door softop? Even if yours is one of the originals with color defect, you would get my softop and then Ford will eventually send you a new hardtop so you would have both... I would be interested in talking...

My dealer thinks that the hard top that is being replaced will have to be "destroyed" with proof of destruction. We hope not, but that is usually how Ford handles these things. Hope it works out for you!!

I doubt it ...I have had Ford replace a defective mustang hood and they let me keep the old one.

There's no safety issue with the MIC1.0 hard top, I don't see why they would have to destroy it. They should let the owners keep it.

Warranty replacements will not allow you to keep the replaced item. Ford does not want questionable tops out there that could be future issues, if not now. Talk to your Ford dealership to confirm this.

They won't have both...a Ford dealer on here already detailed how they have to cut off part of the top being replaced and send it in as proof. Ford doesn't want the crap roofs out there....

oh thats BS, the dealer is a liar. I already talked to a local dealer. let me just say this... money talks BS walks

Ford doesn’t want proof and if they could get away with it, they wouldn‘t even replace the hard tops. They originally tried to cover up the crap tops with a felt cover for free.

Ok. Then try to show up without the original hard top on and get the replacement. Good luck with that. Let us all know how that works out.

I don't see why that should be a problem. A simple stern letter from a lawyer would help with that. He paid for the MIC 1.0 and received it. He owns it, Ford does not. Ford said in writing that they owe him a replacement top. He doesn't owe Ford anything back in return other than a thank you.

Yes, he owns it and can keep it if he wants. But is if he wants the new version....than he HAS to trade the old one for it (which Ford owns until it's swapped). Ford doesn't want the old one out there. No "stern letter from a lawyer" is letting someone end up with 2 tops when they paid for one...and by the way, the letter reads that the entire top is not even being replaced; the rear tailgate glass will not be replaced, only the side glass panels and top panels are being replaced according to the letter.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the glass. A mic1.0 top without glass would be worthless.

i talked to my dealer’s GM ..he said they won’t be sending the 1.0 back, and he says Ford has told them of no plans on picking it up and shipping it back. either. He said he has seen the rumors online that it will be shipped back, and then I said”wouldn’t that be crazy expensive for tops they will just junk” and he said exactly..

ford is not taking the glass out of the old and putting it in the new..Bronco nation said a couple months ago Ford is shipping the new glass separate from the rest of the top and will install at dealer.
