We've got Buddy's first trip planned. It had to hit Fayetteville, AR first! Going to be emotional, but Connor wouldn't have it any other way. After the stop, we're heading East. We'll be one week after Celebration East unfortunately. Trying to find out what a few good trails would be for the first trip and journal.

We decided on The Smokies simply from our experience 10/2020. We had put down our reservation for Connor's Bronco 7/14 so our world revolved around the planning and looking forward to ordering. We were still very much in shock, grief, questioning, disbelief, etc. On a Sunday evening I stumbled on the 2020 Celebration East that had been moved to October due to the COVID. Mentioned to the wife that they would have the new Bronco on display. Without hesitation she cried and said we're going. That was about 8pm... The next morning at 6am we were on the road from Dallas to Townsend, TN. Maybe it was all the "signs" that reminded us of Connor. Maybe it was just getting away after 3 months of the greatest loss we could imagine. But we want to start our journey and mission to bring hope and healing to others where we feel we found some type of healing.

Any recommendations near Gatlinburg would be greatly appreciated.

Peace,
Bill

If you go through Cades cove, there's a 2 track that connects to the Dragon: (Check the National Parks site, sometimes its closed for trees/weather. https://tailofthedragontours.com/cades-cove-parsons-branch/

In Gatlinburg proper there's an old 50's era Motor trail that has old homesteads, nice views, etc. Its paved but scenic: https://smokymountains.com/park/things-to-do/roaring-fork-motor-nature-trail/

Elkmont is a nice park for picnic, hiking, etc.

This site has some actual off road trails: https://where2wheel.com/

If you want to really get into some rocks/trails and test capabilities, Windrock is north of Knoxville/Oakridge. Everything from easy gravel roads that lead to great views to double black diamond where you need a winch and 37's. https://windrockpark.com/

Nemo tunnel is nearby, along with Brushy mountain prison, Frozen Head state park for hiking, etc.

Hurricane Creek Trail (35.72337, -83.02656) isn't too far from there. Took my badlands there about a month ago.
Perfect. Thanks!
