Installed the Trail Seven Bronco Full System Upgrade on a B&O-Equipped 2021 Bronco

After spending countless hours reading detailed forum posts about audio upgrades, I quickly realized that while the write-ups were informative, the technical jargon was like a foreign language to me. As I began piecing together my own kit, I stumbled upon Trail Seven’s website and discovered their complete audio system upgrade.

Their kit is reasonably priced, fully plug-and-play, and customizable. You can choose between different brands for the amp, speakers, and subwoofer mounting locations. I opted for the Kicker amp, upgraded Kicker speakers, and the SSV-mounted subwoofer.

Installation Experience:

The installation process was surprisingly easy, as long as you’re comfortable removing some interior trim. Trail Seven even provides a highly detailed YouTube video with step-by-step instructions, which made the process straightforward.

The only hiccup I encountered was with the ground wire—I had to scuff the painted surface to ensure proper grounding. Other than that, everything went smoothly.

Complete installation took approximately 4 hours with taking short breaks along the way.

Why I Chose Trail Seven:

While the kit costs a bit more than sourcing parts individually, the convenience of a 100% plug-and-play system saved me hours of wiring and potential headaches. The ease of installation and the huge improvement in sound quality made it worth every penny.

The Results:

The sound is night and day better—easily 1000% better than the factory B&O system. If you’re on the fence about upgrading, this kit is the way to go.

Photos & Notes:

I took some photos of the installation process to share here. Unfortunately, I forgot to snap pictures of the speaker installation, but trust me, it’s straightforward with the included instructions.

If you’re ready to upgrade your Bronco’s audio system with a truly plug-and-play solution, I highly recommend Trail Seven. Check out their video for a detailed walkthrough, and you’ll be amazed at how easy it is!

I've been looking at them for a bit. I want more of a stock look so I want to use the factory subwoofer space. I have the top off quite a bit and will start using a tuffy like enclosure.

They had a door mounted option also that should work with the Tuffy enclosure. I thought about putting together a kit where I could mount it in the original location. My fear was that it would rattle the cheap plastic trim panel like the OEM one did.

Look at @mObridge, it will retain the subwoofer enclosure, plug and play, and with DSP will give you full control of the audio system. I have it installed in my Bronco for almost two years now.

Last month I purchased their non B & O Alpine S plug and play speaker series for my 2024 Black Diamond. Super easy install and also reasonably priced. It truly is plug and play. I noticed a HUGE improvement over the stock speakers immediately. Their install videos are some of the best detailed videos out there.
I just purchased the Kicker 200.4 amp from them. Another great install video. Also plug and play. Cannot wait to install it and really see what these speakers can do!
I highly recommend this company. Any questions you may have, they are super responsive.

Does anybody sell a plug-and play B*O upgrade for $1,000 or less? To me that ought to be the price point for a whole system upgrade for non-audiophiles who want to retain the stock appearance. But maybe I'm dreaming.

The location of where the sub is in your build would not work for me...it would look to interfere with my molle panels. I have the pocket style, which makes them stick out a little but even with the bar.

That system does look nice and covers all the basics. Which is not a bad thing when it comes to upgrading. I have already upgraded my speakers, when I get my top on, I will look at doing the sub.

Thats where I’m at. F*ck being an audiophile. We own convertible 4x4’s. No need to spend crazy money for wind to override it anyhow.

I’m looking for some Skullcandy type performance and price points. The tinny factory speakers nearly make my ears bleed.

@mdube72 actually answered this in another thread. Check this out. It looks to be $300-400 for some speaker replacements.

I'm excited, my B&O Kicker replacement setup is shipping. I already went through and replaced speakers with the others suggested for keeping the stock amp, and it was okay, but the biggest issue is lack of low end. The 6.5 kick panel speakers in the B&O do more than the stock sub does. I get very little sub output below 65hz and the output I get above that is buzzing, not actual bass.

@O-BRONCO-O now that you've had it a few months, still seem worth it?

Totally worth it! Huge improvement over stock.

I did have an issue where the speakers would not power on after starting up my Bronco. Did it periodically and without any particular reason. Radio would work but there was no sound coming from the speakers. Happened to change my battery and the issue went away for good. I’m assuming there wasn’t enough power on start up to trigger the amp.
