I've been itchin' to try out the Trail Turn Assist feature, and the other day pulled into a vacant dirt lot near my office to give it a go.

Just wondering if this sound is normal when TTA is engaging? When it disengaged it sounded even more stressful on the components with almost a bang (doesn't really come through in the video).

Tried it 5 or 6 times and always had that mechanical "winding spring" sound, and, odder still, it sounded like it was coming from the front of the vehicle...

Apologies in advance for the poor camera work. Hard to do when you're trying to 360...

Mine makes the same sound. I think its normal.
Thanksā€¦ curious to see what others have to say.

I was mainly concerned because I haven't heard the sound in any of the youtube vids I've seen where they deploy itā€¦

Yea, it's the ABS. For some reason the Bronco has an exceptionally obnoxious ABS unit. It makes the same noises if you brake hard enough to engage the ABS, and if you're trying to hoon around without turning TCS off and it kicks the brake on a particular wheel or wheels.

As it's winter in AK and I'm a bit of a maniac behind the wheel, I'm hearing A LOT of that damn sound.

Sounds normal to me. Thatā€™s what ABS sounds like on the Bronco. I used TTA a few times at the Moab Off Rodeo.

Thanks for the replies. Taking the Bronco out on her first trail tomorrow and was planning on TTA'ing more than a little a bit, mainly to see the smile it'll put on my sonā€¦

Hey me too! Haha I did use TTA to whip into the Wendy's drive thru the other day, that was cool.

Should just use it in loose dirt, not pavement, or solid rock!
Lol I'm in Alaska, 6 months of the year we are ice and snow covered. That post was made in January. Here's what it looks like in January. At that point in the year I haven't seen pavement in 2-3 months. Obviously you don't use 4x4 or TTA on dry pavement.
