Trim/beauty rings on BD steelies?

I'm trying to decide on a good cost-effective approach to getting a classier old-school vibe with the stock BD steelies. Has anyone tried a trim/beauty ring with these wheels? Should a standard 17" trim ring work? The plain steelies are just too "rental-car-missing-wheel-cover" for my taste.

Beauty rings come in a variety of different mounting styles depending on what type of steelie you have.

They should look great! Hot rod trucks also pair beauties with spiders. Trucks tend to have a center cap or dog dish in general and a touch of center chrome can complete the look nicely when in motion.

I'm also interested. I saw one picture a few months ago with beauty rings a d they looked awesome. I haven't been able to find any worth buying yet. To be fair also can't seem to get a bronco for the life of me

The few I’ve looked at online have some blanket statement like “works with most factory steel wheels,” but that sounds like an over-generalization.

Without having the wheels in front of me I won't know which style retaining ring will worm on the Ranger. I would imagine this type of standard retainer beauty rings will work.

Beauty rings will scratch up the surface of your steelies where the retaining teeth dig in. It's not a problem at all, but it does seem that many folks on B6g are ultra anti-any-sort-of-scratches....... But these are cheap steel wheels for a reason.

The appeal of the BD wheels is they are black steelies.

Don't like them, you can sell them on Craigslist, get some alloys off a BB or BL and come out ahead.

The appeal of the BD wheels is whatever appeals to you individually about the BD wheels. I think the beauty rings add a cool retro vibe you won’t get with takeoff alloys from any of the other Bronco trims.
