TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
Soft Top Roof - Paint Scratches On Sports Tube

Issue:
Some 2021 Bronco vehicles equipped with a soft top roof may experience paint scratches on the sports tube due to contact with the soft top roof frame during the open and close operation. This may be due to a lack of protective measures installed on the soft top roof frame. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to apply protective hook and loop fasteners to sections of the soft top roof frame.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure steps to correct the condition if the vehicle meets all of the following criteria:

ā€¢ 2021 Bronco
ā€¢ Factory soft top roof
ā€¢ Paint scratches present on the sports tube due to contact with the soft top roof frame

Parts & Service Procedure: [see attached document]

LMAO! You MUST have paint scratches to have them add felt to prevent paint scratches.

Pretty sure this is already being done either at MAP or my dealer. My August delivery already had this done.

Would be interesting to hear from others as well who recently received their soft top Bronco's to see if it was done at MAP. I would think they would, if they issued this notice, but you never know.

Yep - just checked my September 2 build and this was already in place.
Although, in the Florida heat, the adhesive seemed fluid and the velcro pieces could easily move around, so it will be something to check periodically to make sure none of them have come off.

I would hope there's an automotive-grade adhesive they used. I use 3M double sided automotive tape on my dash camera. It cooks on my windshield in the Summer, and never an issue. If this did become an issue though, that'd what I'd use to stick it back in place.

Ha, OK, I'll get that TSB done on mine. I don't have paint scratches, I have paint chips. Or I could just velcro it myself. I love putting velcro on things. In most cases, I'm slapping velcro in places I think I will want to attach something.

I wind up slapping velcro on, temporarily putting something in a place, then leaving the pile (soft) part there in case I want to put something else there later.

It's modular, kind of like the Bronco. LOL

So is unhooking velcro halves a requirement of top opening or are they using only one half of a two part system? I hope they are using the soft part

Even if mine has this done from the factory, I think I am still going to do a layer of PPF for added insurance. Never know if those pads will fall off without being noticed.

Probably a good place to add this. For $25 - already cut to fit.

You'll want to place the PPF over the velcro. That way, you can make sure the velcro is protected, too.
