Recently received the raised lid Tuffy enclosure (VM2DZ-78115A00-D). All together was pretty impressed with the system. I really like how it has the gas shocks to help hold the lid open. I’m sure this will allow better access if items are stored further back in the cargo area. Also really likes how the walls have a MOLLE system to help further organize. The D-rings on the lid are nice touch to strap gear down or use a cargo net to hold items. I can see so many possibilities with this set up while keeping items secure if you have the doors or top off!

I’ve been looking at either this or the regular enclosure to keep my camera gear in if I ever need to run into the gas station.

how securely does the lid close on this one?

If you take a look at this pic there is a L shaped bracket that pivots into the rack to secure it(there is one on both sides). They have enough tension that they won’t rattle open going dow the road. There isn’t a lock or anything.

Been eyeing this since the overland concept build came out. How substantial does it feel when assembled? Any specs on load capacity for the lid?
Instructions say 50lbs. But I honestly think they are shooting that a little low for safety reasons.

when did this one pop up. I have only seen the fixed lid one. Also, is this for the 2 or 4 door and what are the internal dimensions? Looks nice

It’s been in the accessory catalog for awhile. This is actually the one they used on the Overland build. The deluxe raised lid is for the 4 Door only.
Exterior size: 51.25W x 34.5D x 22.5H
Interior: 40.5W x 31.5Dish x 22H
Usable interior space is hard to judge without being installed.

thanks, I must have missed it. Only saw the fixed one. Glad I saw this thread because I almost got the fixed one. I have the security drawer and trying to figure out if I can fit that between this

That’s great. If there’s no solution to level out the back seat down - at least this will fit the ARB Zero fridge inside with plenty of room to mount and store other stuff.

Plenty of time before the Bronco gets here to wire up a magnet switch to turn on an LED light set under there. I might have to pick one up.

I've been waiting for someone to pick one of these up. I've got 2 questions. How easy will it be to remove the top if I want to put something back there that's taller without removing it. And the second I will have to wait on. I was wondering if the top does come off will the doors still fit in there?

They say this doesn't work with the drawer system, that be said if there is a will there is a way.

I'm planning the same idea with the ARB fridge. With rough dimension it should fit. Having access to pretty much all the accessories I have one on order to test fit. I am also going to be getting a fridge slide to make life easy so I'll test both ways.

This would totally awesome!!

Two bolts and the lid pops right off. Hardest parts was sandwiching the nylon washer that helps it pivot smoothly. That being said, still easy. You still have access to the floor anchors so as long as there is a enough room on the sides they should fit. Once I get my Bronco I planned on doing a install video. So I can test the door idea before installing the lid!

Good to know! If I go soft top, this seems like a must have. Thankfully, because the top bolts off I can remove when transporting the dog in the back.

I was concerned it wouldn’t fit with the slide. But, I’m unsure of the added height. I was also hesitant to drill holes in the floor of the cargo area for it. I haven’t decided if having the ability to pull it out of the cargo area has any benefits.

I like the idea of the Molle strap sides for my Manchester propane tank and other things I don’t want moving around.

I’m loving the ARB fridge. We’ve been using it at the house for backup beverage when we have guests and have been testing out it’s capacity and ability on 12v AGM battery. Very happy with its performance.

We’re taking it on its first real trip for some beach camping this weekend. I’ll be sure to follow up in the fridge thread about my experience in those temps, etc. I bought the cover for it for extreme ambient temps.

Exactly why I want it! I occasionally have my laptop bag and other items I don’t people to help theirselves to. I want to be able to have fun with the top and doors off but yet be secure.
