Opened the back of my Bronco to find this today...

Ford Bronco Tuffy Enclosure Bolt Chinesium... 20211127_134420

I installed the Tuffy BRONCO 4DR 2021 DELUXE RAISED LID CARGO AREA ENCLOSURE a couple of months ago.

As part of the install process you unbolt the cargo tie downs, place the sides of the enclosure (which have "ears" that bolt to the floor of the rear compartment), and use the included bolts and re-use the existing cargo tie-downs to secure everything in place.

Since then I have not actually used the tie-downs for anything, haven't kept the back filled with a pet shark and salt-water... Nothing really.

I hate cheap-ass bolts. For a $600+ enclosure you think they could have included non-shitty bolts. Time to get the un-easy-out out...

Looking at it that appears to be rust at the failure face. If that is true then I hate to be the one to blame you, but that bolt was over torqued on install nearly to a shear failure. The rust gives it away that it has been sheared for a while and just barely hanging by a thread. Did the instructions come with a torque value for install?

I can't recall a torque value TBH and you can blame me if you want but If I can crack a bolt meant to restrain cargo in an accident with an 8" ratchet and my weak executive arms then I guess better now then when it really counted.

And for anyone wondering I didn't wax them.

Oh and I forgot to mention that for the one on the other side (left side) the bolts were loose when I checked them today.

So again don't think I overtightened them to an unreasonable degree.

I have the Tuffy cargo drawer and the nuts for the tie-downs are the WORST. I had to take the whole thing out and use a pair of vice grips to keep them from spinning.

Looks like a cheap bolt. I’d go to the hardware store for some grade 8’s
