I personally would not trust it.
TOR targa is considerably heavier, as @BoverW said.
Plus their VHB bonded attachment is designed not only for lighter panels, but half only at a time.
It's great stuff and uber-sticky but I wouldn't trust it. I use it regularly for different applications and have seen it fail, usually on textured surfaces (such as mounting some light duty metal shelf for small specialty tools on the side of a garage fridge).
Just my .02.
Also, just joined the TOR owner's group this past weekend.
I'm sure I'll have some "are you guys seeing this?" questions if anything odd happens (and it hasn't been covered already).
So far really impressed and happy vs. the ST.

I'm not that confident either, but looking at the design, there are two hinges for each section of the OEM top, so there'd be four across the Targa (Plus two latches keeping it held down on the back side). I'm not smart enough to get into the physics of it, but I'd also think it'd be less about the weight, and more about the upward force being applied by the wind.
They do have the option of bolting it down instead of using the VHB, but like others said, I'm not going there.

Hopefully we see something from TOR about their solution soon.

Having just taken the targa off for more light while installing a wireless charger, and then putting it back on, that things heavy. I personally wouldn't want to use it with the flip back dohicky.

Beach towels clip is your friend!

Seriously, you are right. TOR targa is much heavier than OEM panels.
Just another thought.

The TOR targa latch differs from the OEM panels and cannot be secured when the targa is flipped. With all the driving turbulence, it's likely to rattle uncontrollably. Maybe a few velcro strips would do the magic.

nice day today so I took off my roof rack and the Targa TOR top and velcroed their headliner in.
VERY EASY TO DO after the 1 hr. spent taking off the roof rack.
have to be very careful when positioning the headliner as the velcro immediately attaches itself to the existing original liner.

very excited to take this on the road and see the difference in noise reduction.

the most time consuming part was using the EXTRA LARGE chisel tip permanent black magic markers to blacken in the white design and end up with a midnight black headliner. Hopefully TOR will in the future offer options. The headliner is definitely very nice and spruces up the interior.
Roger,
What is your opinion of the noise reduction with the added topo pieces vs. only the standard headliner?

Roger,

I found it to significantly be more quiet than with the standard OEM carpeting.

I velcroed it onto the existing headliner which added even more buffering.

subsequently I also put in the TOR cargo liner as well as resonix deadliner on the cargo floor and soundskins lining in the doors (very easy to do , the hardest part was pushing the panels back in place).

It is now very quiet. However I do have a roof rack and ditch lights which cause more noise ,
without them the bronco would be very very quiet.

I was pleased with how everything came out.

10-4.
Thanks!
I had envisioned doing the same with the Amazon Velcro pieces. Glad to see I wasn't crazy ( or at least alone in my crazy) for envisioning an easier way.

I followed @CTwaterfowler's lead and installed over the carpet with velcro.
(Although I removed my top completely to do so, whereas he managed to install without removal).
I installed it on Saturday, and intended to listen for any change in noise level during my commute this morning.
however, it was quiet enough that I never even though about it.

Had a little more sustained rain last week and noticed I hadn’t quite solved the water leaking between the glass and tailgate issue.

[BTW, really not trying to ding TOR’s product. They’ve even told me their engineering team is working on a solution so this won’t be a potential issue going forward.]

I used the same steps I previously mentioned, but took pics this time in case someone was scratching their head. Here‘s a before pic. Really tough to photograph since we’re only talking about a millimeter or 2 of difference. Circled in red is an area I fixed previously and yellow shows what I’m going after. You can barely see a shadow on the seal circled in yellow and more sun on the area in red. The shadow from my hand didn’t help…

1. Using thumb and forefinger, gently pull down on the weatherstripping. (Use both hands, I just did this for the pic).

2. Put some superglue on the seal. I find a brush tip is best for clean and even application.

3. Push the seal back into place slightly more towards the rear than it originally was and if you’d like, use some painters tape to hold it in place. This may not be necessary, but it made me feel better.

We’re supposed to have rain from Wednesday through the weekend here 🤣 so I’ll definitely know if I’ve got it licked this time.

I may have to try this. I loosened the two allen bolts and moved the window down a smidge. As much as I could move it without damaging it.
Still leaks, and the back glass rattles going over bumps. I think I have it narrowed down to either the struts having so much play on the ball ends or the compressed seal in the corners of the vertical part, near the bottom, where the "hump" is on the rear glass portion. There is zero springback of that seal when the glass is raised, like it is flattened out completely and conformed to the shape of the humps now.

I wonder if that’s what’s going on with mine. Noticed a new rattle recently. I thought maybe the Rockworx fasteners I have loosened up...

Following this thread…I have the same rattle and leaks. I’ve adjusted the top back about 1/4” and it still rattles on bumps. If I adjust any further, the top doesn’t align with the holes. I’m going to try to adjust the window, but hope there’s a solution soon.

I'm also diagnosing a leak. It actually seems to come in through the top most seal. My rattles went away when I had the glass with defroster and wiper installed.

I fixed my rear window rattle by installing some weatherstripping around the edge of the rear window .

I probably could have used a little smaller size, but this has worked well, and there’s been no leaks during the heavy rains we’ve had this week.

I’m going to give this a shot.

When you say smaller size, are you referring to the total length, or the diameter? Do you think the 10’ 0.59”x0.59” be adequate in your opinion?
