That had more to do with the new Federal CAFE regulations making cars largely unprofitable.

Which is what the head of the EPA 4-8 years ago said he was doing deliberately.
Cars are evil and the masses need to ride green public transit or ride share.

That strikes me as counter-intuitive given the push to make more trucks and SUVs which "should" hurt CAFE standards.

Others are saying the 2-door Jeep is evidence Ford will continue copying that model but Stellantis is making tons of cars so using Jeep as evidence to support continued 2-door Broncos would be suspect at best.

The trucks are getting squeezed too.
The Green EPA weenie openly stated that the final goal was that people would have to get permission to own a vehicle depending upon proven need.

Job 1 was to endlessly increase CAFE and safety standards until the poors could no longer buy vehicles.

I think both wrangler and bronco, the 2 doors are the HALO vehicles. 4 doors are based on the 2 doors and not the other way around.

2 door is needed for branding.

Ford is ending production of sedans because fewer and fewer are being sold. That's it.

I believe the fusion still sold over 100,000 cars last year. I agree with the government mandated profitability issue.
