Not a fan of union strikes but I get it. I think that it was a good strategy for them to choose the Colorado/Canyon, Wrangler/Gladiator and Bronco/Ranger plants because we as a collective off-roading and utility group seem to scream the loudest when we don't get what we want 🤣

The Big 3 has made 21 Billion dollars in profits for the first 6 months of 2023. Don't forget about stock buybacks instead of giving workers a few pennies for their troubles.

Do tell me about these "fair prices" for the customer you speak of. Ford goes out of the country for cheaper labor and STILL has astronomical prices to go along with record profits.

And recalls out the ass. My f-150 has a handful that Ford needs to have the funds to fix.

Will this strike affect parts availability? My 2 week old Bronco has been sitting at the dealer all this week waiting for front axel part and a gateway control module…I think that’s what they called it. I feel it’s a never ending waiting game with Ford.
i waited 5wks for an alternator.

Lot of politics in this no politics titled thread.

Thankfully less insults than expected... or more likely the admins have taken the insults down

Is anyone else a little spooked on the Quality during this period, I think it had improved over the past few years-

3+ years. Scheduled for Monday. Based on some articles, seems like Ford has tried to be at the table and unfortunately the UAW hasn’t reciprocated. Bummer for this cat.
10/9 build week but lucky to have one already. I feel for you.

If I were a worker at MAP, being told to take one for team. I would wonder why we can't at least get a vote on the proposal that is out there. Ford offered what 20% ?

Heh, if you pay attention... @Administrator has been busy.

Anyway, good luck to UAW.

Don't know what the future holds for labor unions—it seems like in general they have declined in popularity. But you cannot deny that inflation has taken a HUGE chunk out of the pockets of the lower/middle classes as of late.

I can't answer that question in this thread. You just asked me a question about politics in the thread deliberately set up to not be about them. It would be inappropriate for me to tell you whether or not I agree with you here.

Yeah, agreed. Lots of folks railing against the evils of unions, although for me the most galling is the weird generational infighting.

The President of the UAW decides if it's worthwhile to put the proposal up for a vote.

I think they've been a victim of their own success. They got to a place of comfort and sat on their laurels for a while, while big corporations have spent a lot of time and money making them look evil. Then, now that things have gotten hard and the middle class is atrophying, they have to do actual union stuff, and in a terrible environment to boot.
