Market sets the range-there are much fewer people "qualified" to be CEOs then their are to fill in as a factory worker.

Yeah I know some CEOs are terrible, but that is what the market justifies. That is also not a reason why Autoworkers should get some additional competstation, which is deserved.

CEO in these companies is not a skill or merit based position but a who you know position.

You know the Tesla supercharger cables are liquid cooled right, and have been for years (at least the Version 3 chargers)

The big issue for a lot of folks is home charging. I could run an EV just fine for most things, and borrow the wife's truck for everything else. I have a reasonably new house (1999) with 200A service. I have friends with new homes with 400A service.

My parents on the other hand, have 80A service on their 1968 house, and no cheap or easy way to get 240VAC to their driveway.

It's not just apartment dwellers, older housing stock with low power service is going to be a major issue.

And supercharging is really for when you have no other choice. It's 4-10x as expensive as charging at home

Sure- but not enough to charge a battery in 10 minutes or less. My neighbor literally is working on this currently and explained it the other day. There is way to much heat generated for the current technology.

It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By "business" I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level-I mean the wages of decent living.

I am quoting installing charge stations @ our frame division, we have 1,100 parking spots and are struggling to determine how many stations to install. Of course the charge station is only one part, we still have to run power to each bank.

So what number constitutes a “base living wage”? What price house falls under this umbrella? Car? How many kids? Pets? Seems a living wage is hard to quantify. What’s easier is living within your means or finding a job that covers your means.

interesting - there are plenty of non Tesla level 2 chargers near me. Of the 11 level 2 chargers within 20 miles of my work, 4 are Tesla, so less than half. I do wonder how many have federal funding and how many are just installed as part of the business model.

Looks like Charge point & EV passport are the two big brands that are not Tesla around here

Edit: not sure where you are but focusing on the beach I see 19 level 2 stations, 9 are Tesla.
So seems to be a similar ratio

Not level 2, Level 3. Level 2 are for charging overnight, or "feelz". We have free Level 2 chargers (free as in the city/taxpayer is paying for the electricity) downtown, and you get 3-5 miles of range while eating lunch.

level 2 charged a tesla from 8% to 81% in half an hour

level 1 is is the 120 v at home overnight charger
level 2 is the 240 V charger
level 3 is the 480 V charger

Edit: @AZ_Liberty My bad - it was a level 3 charger. My friend just double checked and let me know it was a level 3

Flip works for a Ford dealership. He either got one, or two. Actual Level 3 Fast chargers. Depending on how much trenching they had to do, and whether they needed new transformers, a single unit can run a quarter mil install.

This 100%. If these policies and technology are so great, then why do we need to mandate and subsidize and force them by regulation them instead of demonstrating the benefits and letting people decide?
