You can always swap in a 2.7 and get a stronger stick

Um... you do realized you basically just said you don't know how to drive an automatic right? Just saying

But looking at @jasminekd , back in the 70's knowing how to drive a stick was almost a requirement (luckily I got my license in the 80's). But as time went on, it was really just the sports cars that stuck to sticks and everything shifted towards auto's. So I don't see that need for everyone to learn stick. But at the same time, it's not a bad thing to know, and it's a hell of alot easier today than it was back then. They kinda make them idiot proof now ?
yea! Plus - no one could drive my car besides me ? maybe that’s a plus

Nice poll! I think I would have gotten a stick if my wife could drive one better and she asked me to get an auto since its our second or alternate car (depending on what we are driving) and she needs to drive it once in a while.

She doesn't have a problem with getting a stick for Mustang I'm getting after this though LOL

At the time I write this I believe it's 202 Auto to 172 Manual, with numerous comments about people choosing auto because they want the 2.7L and/or Sasquatch. That's somewhere around a 60/40 split, which is considered a HUGE take rate for manuals these days. I hope Ford is watching this.

If this were to be a dedicated rock crawler, I’d go with a manual trans.
But seeing as how this will become my new daily driver in LA/OC traffic, may get driven by the wife, who doesn’t know how to drive stick, and because it will see the occasional thousand mile + road trip, auto trans is the way to go for me. Practicality is where it’s at.

And I am gen Y, if that helps?

Millennials that actually have a great interest in vehicles tend to like driving stick. Those that only see a car as means from A to B tend to not care or not know how. At least that's been my experience. And which do you rekon would be on this type of forum? lol. I was pretty much the only kid in my highschool that drove a manual transmission to school everyday. And my graduating class was over 900. But I did personally teach multiple friends how to drive stick, so the interest is there, though definitely not widespread.
My friends in High School tried to play a prank on me and move my car while I was busy inside. I came out and found them scratching their heads not sure how to even start my manual transmission vehicle. Good ole 90s Toyota Camry.

The demographical audience for the Bronco is the reason i decided not to join a local group lol. Most likely would be the odd one out.

Auto and Gen X. Multi-person vehicle most likely and all can or will be able to drive a manual, but will also probably be the road trip vehicle so auto it is. If it was mine and only mine, I'd probably go manual and two door.

There is also Xennials aka the Oregon Trail Generation (seriously. Google it LOL). If you’re too young for Gen X but never had the technology that millennials had until adulthood. Applies if you’re born between 77-84.

Im in there and i’ve been driving a stick since 97. Im getting the 2.7 engine tho.

Gen X, manual.

My first vehicle (a 90's Ranger) was a manual and I would very much like to recapture the fun of that.
