I’d definitely do it... but sure as hell the rock would break and I didn’t option the parachute.

This thread is hilarious. Thousands of people have driven out on that outcropping over the years. The ledge is at least 6 feet thick and 10 feet wide. Your 2 ton vehicle doesn't even register as any extra weight compared to the size and breadth of that thing.

The worst part of driving onto this overlook is trusting your spotter enough to let them guide you to the edge. Then you hop out, with several feet on either side to do so, and pose for your picture.

Yup, that is cool. So who wants to take bets on when we hear the first news story about a Bronco owner.....

Reminds me of the people who fall off cliffs and die taking selfies.

This is where the parental advice "just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it right" comes into focus...

I find it rather comforting that I may not the only one that "might" crawl on their hands and knees to maybe, MAYBE, 30' from the ledge. To only end up falling to my belly, clawing at the dirt, and screaming hysterically.

There is HOPE for us - we WILL have friends when rescued and placed in a padded room for our safety. BYOD - bring your own Depends. Whose bringing the deck of cards?

Yeah....the odds of that outcropping giving way were pretty long.

On the other hand, aside from personal tragedy, it would have defined the Bronco brand in perpetuity. They sure as hell wouldn't have proceeded with Job #1 anytime soon.

So where is your picture? Such a detailed post and no picture?

NO THANKS!

By way of comparison...

New Hampshire's Old Man of the Mountain was such a huge symbol of the indestructible, "LIVE FREE OR DIE" GRANITE STATE. it was even on every NH license plate. And then on May 3, 2003, it just decided to crumble.
