I hope they end up changes their ways...

I'm in the exact same situation as OP; had my initial reservation through Granger and placed a second order on January 22nd of this year with Golf Mill. I only went through them as they guaranteed it would be sold at MSRP. I made sure to ask several times to ensure this. When I went there to place the order, before I could even ask, they gave me the following sale agreement to sign saying "This is an agreement that we will sell it to you at MSRP and won't mark it up". We also signed the print out of the build and price of the Bronco with the matching sale price. OP, was this the same sales agreement you signed? If so, I may be in trouble and should probably take action now before I get a build date/VIN assigned

I would be curious to see how many others this has happened to at this stealership. Most likely there will be a clear pattern of them doing this. I would be willing to believe they will slap ADMs on all their orders and if you don't pay they are happy because some non-reservation buyer is willing to pay stupid money....

5 10 years from now I ain’t gonna give two shits about 2500$ but I’ll still be driving the car I wanted. It’s just money but piece of mind is worth it to me.
No way I'd pay that 2500k. Looking at that Bronco, I'd think about how I folded like a cheap suit, and let some slimy dealership take my extra 2500k.

As a general non-materialist though, who already owns a 4x4 for off-roading, and only kind of wants a Bronco at this point, admittedly walking would have been an easy choice for me. (But "stay pumped" folks and keep buying, to goose my F stock price!)

As a fellow Chicagoland resident, I feel for the OP, he seems to have done due diligence to cover his bases, and still got screwed. :(

I mean if you have a document signed by theM that states msrp + TTL you could lawyer up probably. That's pretty clear breach of contract to me.
If you got a signed paper with agreed upon pricing, then Ford should be able to help.

Hopefully it will be Levine... if he is involved he can skip over a bunch of the red tape. But I would also call the customer support line tomorrow to make sure they open a case/inquiry for you. Even if you lose this Bronco, if Ford wises up to their business practices they'll cut future allocation from them and (potentially) cut them as a dealer. Plus if you decide to reorder at another dealer Ford should be able to help with that.

And I would encourage others to avoid posting bad reviews until @taperunner tries to get this resolved through Ford channels. Although... judging by their reviews from the past @taperunner wasn't the first person to get screwed over.
Thanks everyone. I actually work at a law firm (not a lawyer, I do tech stuff) so I’m going to try talking to an attorney tomorrow. But it’s a big dealer and I have a feeling they’ll call the “letterhead bluff”. I honestly felt like ford or M Levine would be the only people who could get this squared away. But I’m not super hopeful. So I’ll probably just leave some honest and negative reviews.

I still have my granger reservation but I’ve got a second kid Due in two months. We’ve been a one car family the past year and I won’t be able to wait 2 more years. I might try to lease something in the interm but I’m not sure yet.
Ugh this is so infuriating. Don't give up OP. I dont know your state's laws, etc, but you working in a law office is a great start. Here in NC, verbal/written agreement is enforceable. Having anything that specifically states paying MSRP on the vehicle is ammo for you. A text, an email, anything, but the more details you have the better (ie price breakdown, etc). I really hope you get this squared away. Dealers like this make me sick and they deserve to be burned. It's one thing to charge a markup, its another to take orders under false pretenses and screw customers.

I hope they end up changes their ways...

This is not enough. There is nothing breaking down what you are buying. I would go back and get something more official and consider placing an order somewhere else given this dealer's track record.

My dealer gave me verbal conformation numerous times plus emails both with a price break down and a line specifically stating "All retail orders are MSRP + tax/tag" AND they gave me the following form with an exact breakdown of what I would expect to pay.

I was a little nervous because the bottom says "not a contract for sale" but given everything they gave me I felt I had enough to feel confident in them standing by their word and their transparency with everything from reservation to delivery (especially once another forum member had a great experience as well upon delivery).. and delivery went smooth as can be and they treated my Bronco as my Bronco before any papers were even signed.

Ford if your listening.. This is making you look bad for all of us still waiting for a Vin. It is scaring all us that we will have to go through this. You should at least communicate to the order holder of some kind of punishment this dealer is getting.

@Ford Motor Company needs to listen to this. Their customers are hurting and this only rubs salt in the wound. Their dealers are dragging us through the dirt at certain locations after all of the wait and excitement. Nothing ruins a brand quicker than this.

Take a page out of another member's book and email your story to all of the surrounding Ford dealerships. Be sure to CC the GM, Sales Manager, and your salesman from Golf Mills.

Golf Mill absolutely sucks. Worst dealer I've ever dealt with. I spoke with them one morning about coming in to check out one of the Broncos they had and I was assured it was there by the lady on the phone. When I went into the dealer, the salesman said that vehicle was never actually there. Absolute joke. I feel so horrible for you...it's so frustrating that they get away with this.
Had a similar experience with a dealership near me. Lined up a test drive for a Telluride (they sell Ford and Kia), re-arranged my whole day to do it, when I showed-up they acted like I was silly for thinking they had one, then proceeded to try to sell me a Sorento instead. Bait and switch bullshit ensured I made my Bronco order at another dealership farther away. What's worse, is that honest dealers I'm dealing with get annoyed with what they perceive as insulting paranoia on my part when I can't take them at their word on anything due to past experience. They accommodate me, but they are perceivably put off by it.

“I don’t want bad press” give it to them. Call local newspapers, radio and tv stations. One is bound to bite.

Yea, I wouldn't pay a 2.5 million dollar markup either :D

I posted on twitter to Ford and Mike Levine to help boost the signal. This seems pretty outrageous.
