I am thinking the cost of upgrading the 2.3L EcoBoost® engine 7-speed manual transmission with crawler gear to the 2.7L EcoBoost engine (requires 10-speed automatic) 10-speed automatic transmission with Trail Control will be about $6K ($2K for the Ecoboost engine; $4K for the transmission).

This is just a guesstimate. Am I way off here?

What are your thoughts on the costs to upgrade other things like hard top, wheels, and other features NOT in a package?

The only other vehicle with a 2.3L and the option to have a manual and the 10spd auto is the Mustang. Its a $1600 option for the auto there. I'd guess the upgrade from 2.3/7MT to 2.7/10A is in the $3000-$3500 range.

You're closer to double. Look at the pricing difference between WildTrak and Badlands....about $6800, and WT with Auto and 2.7l also has the Mid Package, Sasquatch, Black Painted Hard Top, heated seats. Even if Mid package is $3k, and the other stuff washes away the things Badlands has that WT doesn't....that would mean about $3800 for auto and 2.7l. My guess is in the low 3Ks.

Thinking and hoping you are on the high side.

I would guess in the 3 to 3500 range....maybe a little cheaper.

Closest thing I could find was the F150 upgrade to 2.7l is 995.00 list. I couldn't find any numbers on the 10 speed.

I’m guessing $2500-3000.

i think it'll probably be 2.2K for the 10 speed and 1.5K for the 2.7. $3,700k in all.

I just want to participate in this guessing game.

My guess, albeit somewhat educated, is somewhere between $2750 & $3250

I think OP is closer than many think. Jeep charges $2750 for automatic and doesn’t even offer a similar engine upgrade. In the end they will charge what they think people will pay. I’m hoping less than $4500 for both, but would not surprise me if it’s more.

If it's more than about $3k for both it will kill me upgrading to the 2.7 and possibly the entire vehicle as I have zero intentions of going over low-mid 40s on a 4 door Big Bend with mid, hard top, auto and 2.7.

ford could hammer their buyers for the automatic if they wanted to. and most/many will pay it because they don't know how to drive stick
