I plan on upgrading the tires on the Badlands I'm ordering and have a question. I'd like to keep the stock rims which are 8" wide. When I look at BFGoodrich's website, it says the minimum rim width is 8.5", but when I go to Discounttire.com it says 7.5" (see below). Can anyone help and answer the question....Can I mount the ko2 37x12.50r17lt to the stock 8" rim after I get it lifted or di I have to buy new rims?

I think the bigger problem is the offset of the 8" wheels. 37x12.50's will probably rub. The sasquatch wheels are pushed out an inch to clear the 315's.

I’ve known some tire shops that stick to what the manufacturer recommends... and others that will do whatever you want, and if you roll the bead that’s your problem.

It’s going to be highly dependent on the specific tire and rim whether it works without issue.

Just for some context, remember that this is a thing (but opposite):

Hell, I'm thinking the 37s on the 4wp rig will be rubbing with the Sasquatch rims. I wouldn't plan on being able to mount 37s on the standard offset rims.

Good point. I was only worried about fitting the 12.5" tire on the 8" rim and didn't think about rubbing with the offset. Guess no one will really know we get our hands on them.

It's not a hard limit. If you compare various tire brands, you'd find that the actual widths vary significantly.

I prefer the wheels to be a bit narrower than the tire to help prevent losing a bead and help protect the wheel.

Wheel spacers are an option for you, assuming you buy good ones and check torque every time you rotate your tires. I have never had any come loose, but also use thread locker for added insurance. Opinions on wheel spacers incoming.....

That might be what I end up doing. Will have to see how far it kicks the tires outside the fender flares.

There will be people like me, getting slightly skinnier flares for proper appearances, that you will probably find a great deal on the Sasquatch flares.

Every Jeep JK Wrangler running factory rims and 315/70R17 or 35x12.50R17 tires is using a rim that is technically too narrow for most of the tires.

Nobody is complaining.

That is a great point. Might be able to work out a trade.

I've used spacers on my Jeep and they worked fine. Just didn't "like" using them.
