I’d be up for it as well...sure y’all could teach me a few things re off-roading. Extent of mine is Def90 on fire roads and such, and Series 3 about the farm.
My build will be 2dr, 2.3, manual, Lux. MIC. White, of course.

I'm in whenever... Even if i don't have the bronco yet, i can bring my POS D90...

1. Your config (doors/trim level) and build date if you know it. ~ 4D Badlands/SAS
2. Have you been offroading before? ~ Yep
3. Have you been on the OHV trails at URE before? Yep (guiding as well) Also can help arrange the other 2 OHV properties there.
4. What kind of radio do you have? HAM,GMRS, maybe a GB somewhere...
5. Would you be interested in a campsite cookout as well? Yep

I can probably arrange a private campground as well - dates depending (have to check on current costs, etc) if we want to turn it into an "Event" that could probably happen as well.
let me know.. i'll be out there this weekend and can start the conversation with the folks involved in the sites, etc.

I think its a great idea.

Don't live there but work nearby sometimes. If I happen to be around, I'd love to play passenger! Took my bike through last time I was there.

October reservation but we have a cabin in URE where we keep a few old Range Rover classics and a Series II I could use while waiting for delivery.

I'd be interested in doing the easier trails as I have no off road experience.. But one of the reasons I'm getting the Bronco is to venture out and try it. Thanks for building this thread. Hopefully it gets some traction. I am not much of a camper but I'd be willing to be out there on the trails for the day once my Bronco is broken in. And especially if we have some experienced folks to show us the way.

1. Black Diamond, 2.3L, 7 speed Manual, 4 Door, Soft Top, VB. Build date scheduled for week of 6/21.
2. Never been but interested.
3. Never been to Uwharrie, but would like to go when I get my Bronco.
4. No radio here at present.
5. Campsite cookout would be cool but I would probably not camp.

Do you find you need an external antenna to boost range or does it work fairly well with the handheld built-in?

On the trails, we will be in close proximity so handhelds should be fine for that. If you want greater coverage to stay in contact across the park, you would want an external antenna. I've never needed an external for mine though. I have a Midland 75-822 handheld CB that has served me well over the years there.

No build date yet - I've been through URE a few times and have enjoyed the great hiking. I driven by a few of the OHV trail heads and thought, damn, I'd love to take my 1st Gen through there but it's reached the age that I'm preserving it more than using it.

Looking forward to getting out there and putting the new Bronco to use. I already stopped through a couple weeks ago and got my season OHV pass. It will be applied to the windshield at the dealership. (y):p

1. Your config (doors/trim level) and build date if you know it. - No date yet, day 10 reservation, 4 door, 2.7 SAS LUX OBX
2. Have you been off-roading before? Yes, experienced on ATVs but probably classified as an high functioning newb with the new Bronco.
3. Have you been on the OHV trails at URE before? No
4. What kind of radio do you have? CB
5. Would you be interested in a campsite cookout as well? Yes and any of the camping URE offers is fine with me.

In another thread, I suggested the idea of those of us in the NC/SC area meeting on a weekend for a cookout/trailrun at Uwharrie National Park (a,k,a, URE) once enough of us get our Broncos. It would be great to meet, have some fun, and enjoy a day on the trails.

I know most of us don't have build dates yet so I don't want to pick a date just yet for the "Broncos@URE Day", but wanted to see how much interest there was, and how many are experienced vs. newbies to off-highway trail riding to determine the need to post a complete FAQ.

For those who are new, here's a few thoughts:
1. You do need to buy an OHV trail pass. $5 for a day pass, $30 for season pass (Trails close Dec. 15th, and on bad weather days).
2. The Outpost does have a grill for those who want to buy a hot breakfast/lunch (short-order grill). And you can get passes there, too.
3. You need to have some basic recovery equipment (tow strap, gloves, toolkit, at a minimum).
4. You will also need a radio (CB,. FRS, HAM, etc.) as there is little to no cell signal in many areas and will need to talk to your group. CBs are cheap and easy.
5. As this is a national park, no alcohol is allowed inside the park.

If enough interest is here, we could also rent a campsite and have a cookout of our own where everyone signs up to bring something so no one person has a hefty food bill :)

If you are interested, then in your reply I'd ask you to include the following:
1. Your config (doors/trim level) and build date if you know it.
2. Have you been offroading before?
3. Have you been on the OHV trails at URE before?
4. What kind of radio do you have?
5. Would you be interested in a campsite cookout as well?
4 Door OBX, non squatch, 2.7, locking rear diff.
Minimal off road experience, unless quads and mountain bikes count.
Never been to URE
FRS radios
Would definitely be interested in camping.
I would also consider bringing a quad and my TJ.
Scheduled build date, 7/26/21
