Planning on a very similar trip next spring. Can't wait, I have always loved the desert but never had the chance to spend much time there. I have many questions, but I would like to know if you used any outfitters on any of your trails or did you just connect with other drivers there? I would especially appreciate any lessons you learned of things to avoid or things that went well.

We're there other vehicles with you? I would love to do this but worry about not having other vehicles if you break down

I'm keen for some recommendations for my next Utah trip. if you had to recommend one off-roading trail other than Fins and Things and Hell's what would it be?

TIA!
We were there in August. Take your pick of these, all are very cool - Steelbender Loop (Trails Offroad 5/7), Poison Spider (5/8), and Top of the World (6/8). Did all the optional obstacles. Each has their own appeal but I’ll say I liked Poison Spider the most with it’s great scenery. The pic in my signature is on the backside loop of Top of the World.

We used this guide for Fins and Hells:
https://outlawadventuretours.com/moab-jeep-tours/guide-services/

We went by ourselves for Shafer trail and Tower Arch. Shafer did not require any spotting but we got out a few times for Tower Arch when visibility was sketchy.

I can't think of anything to avoid because everything went smoothly. Maybe just downloading the map on OnX or whatever you use when you're off the grid.

Having a trail buddy is ideal but we did not.

We used this guide for Fins and Hells:
https://outlawadventuretours.com/moab-jeep-tours/guide-services/

We went by ourselves for Shafer trail and Tower Arch. We only saw a few vehicles out there which was nice, but since those trails are popular, there would eventually be someone coming along. On Shafer trail while we were stopped, a guide with passengers in her vehicle went past us. We also saw a Jeep parked while we were at Tower Arch.

Just to be on the safe side I do carry recovery gear, spare tie rod, extra fuses, hose clamps, basic tools, and made sure we had plenty of water.
