How is the Ecoboost 2.7L v6 mounted - is it mounted transversely or straight?

Common sense would tell me it wouldn't be possible to mount it transversely with either of those transmissions. Am I missing something? Honest question. How is the Ecoboost 2.7L v6 mounted - is it mounted transversely or straight?
It's been awhile I looked but I believe FJ Cruiser v6 is mounted straight.Common sense would tell me it wouldn't be possible to mount it transversely with either of those transmissions. Am I missing something? Honest question.
Well if it's RWD why wouldn't it be? I'm so confused about the point being made or asked about right now ha.It's been awhile I looked but I believe FJ Cruiser v6 is mounted straight.
It's about serviceability, especially sparkplug accessibility. Just checked - The FJ Cruiser has front axle/differential and not a transaxle. So, straight mount on FJ makes sense.Well if it's RWD why wouldn't it be? I'm so confused about the point being made or asked about right now ha.
Vw does/has used transverse engines in their AWD vehicles. But outside that I donāt know of any transverse applications that arenāt FWD. And really, the VW engines were designed for FWD use, just some models got upgraded to AWD.My take was transverse was typically for fwd, is there a transverse rwd/4x4 out there?
I'd be terribly confused if I saw a sideways V8. LolEdit: Remembered Volvo did also have a transverse V8 AWD in the XC90 and S80 for awhile. But that was a good while ago.
Cadillac is the first one that came to my mind but here's a few others.I'd be terribly confused if I saw a sideways V8. Lol
Yep, even with awd they're still fwd dominate until slippage but supposedly could send it all to the back if needed. Brings up the question of what the Bronco's split will be and does it vary with which case/system is chosen.Vw does/has used transverse engines in their AWD vehicles.
