Found this little video of Vaughn and Loren testing the new 4600 Bronco and thought some here might enjoy it.

These will be racing at KOH this upcoming weekend.

One thing I did notice about the portals is the coilover is no longer inside the UCA. The UCA is in front of the coilover.

Very interesting setup. :cautious:

Nice to see the 2DR body style getting some attention.

Okay, street version in MY23? $100K?

Oh... never?

I like seeing it even though Ford will only offer special editions of the wagon. Great find!

I wonder if that is the factory steering rack? What's the count on failed racks now that we have seen? Around 6?

Like I've said in other threads the front suspension on this truck utilizes the portals 4-5” lift and turns it into usable wheel travel... the shocks and coils are longer and the upper shock mount is taller.
A-arms are stock length, or nearly the same length. The increased travel originates from the CV angle now being ”flat“ at the middle of the travel. In stock form, ford's design does NOT allow for full upward travel of the angle the CVS are capable of. Stock it only uses about 60% of the mid and lower range of motion available.

So what this means is that this 4600 truck has about 4.5” of additional droop (over a stock SAS) or down travel (from portals) AND also has and additional 4.5”of compression travel available due to the additional tire clearance and the longer shock towers and shocks.

I'm guessing close to 15” of front wheel travel.

Not factory, Vaughn mentions it in the comments.

Need details on that winch mount. im assuming it was a 2.7 amd the bumper looked like the modular one. so there may be hope after all for a hidden mount. (like the 2.3 has available)

I know the title is clickbait but that front suspension isn’t remotely stock. Lol

It does not have to be for a 4600 car.

4600: Stock Class This class has been racing in ULTRA4 since 2012. It is one of the 3 classes that races on KOH week during the 4WP Every Man Challenge. Currently, these cars do not have to qualify to race in the EMC race during KOH Week. At regional races, this class usually races with either the 4500 or 4800 cars.

Class Characteristics:

  • Stock OEM Frame
  • Factory Engine
  • Factory Transmission
  • 35” DOT approved tires
  • Single 2.5 inch diameter shocks per corner
  • Mechanical Steering
This is truly an everyman class. Steering just has to be mechanical.

Super cool. 😎 Love their slider & skids set up...lotsa UHMW sheeting on there! The 2dr really shines in this environment! I didn't catch whether their using the 4 cyl or 6 cyl??

I wish Ford would just mass produce the 4600 instead of a Raptor. I’d buy a basic 2dr base as a daily and keep this BAMF on a trailer for the trails and dunes.
