Not for sale, huh? I'm sure a lot of people at this point are like, "I don't care what type of Bronco it is, just take my money!!!"

I get the wide open spaces. Where I live I cant even drive for 4 hours straight. Unless its in circles. One thing that I think that Ford should consider is offering a range extender. If a 1600lb? battery can get you 300 miles why not add an optional extender kit for the bed, with safety mounts and all. 800lbs should get you to 425 or so easy enough. How about a solar tonnoue(how the hell do you spell that lol) cover and roof for an extra 50 miles a day.Where I live 300+ miles is the lake and back or a trip to the casino. I would have to slow charge there are 2 "quick" charging areas in town. To compare the older model mileage is kind of a stupid point to make when a 10 minute fill at the pump or 8 hour charge, or 18 in my case, is the option
You are making too much sense stop it lol but agreed people that use their trucks as offices and have long hauls as cool as that truck is the range is just really disappointingI get the wide open spaces. Doesn't make much sense someone has said they were mothballing then till tops are available why not make what you can make rnThat’s not a completed vehicle. Sticker says it’s supposed to have a MiC top and roof rails.
I think it will be plenty range for alot of contractors and fleet trucks. The fence company I worked at had 8 f series trucks from a 150s to 650s they never saw more than 150 to 200 miles a day to the jobsites and back. We did jobs in Ohio Indiana and Kentucky. But yeah desert and ranch folks do need something different. But landscapers, contractors, plumbers, and a whole lot more will find it to be plenty sufficient. I used to drive OTR freight I know about planning fuel stops and dont think that the Lightning is meant to replace all F150s, but if it works for a bunch of people than we will throw more money at the tech and charge these things up faster than Thor can kick start Iron Man.You are making too much sense stop it lol but agreed people that use their trucks as offices and have long hauls as cool as that truck is the range is just really disappointing
I can’t believe Ford wasn’t smart enough to have more than one vendor making those MIC tops to a spec. Someone should lose their job over a screw up that big on a product release that was supposed to be Fords future.Doesn't make much sense someone has said they were mothballing then till tops are available why not make what you can make rn
They have this stuff down pretty well. Go by a port of entry and you see thousands of vehicles on the ground and most of those get some kind of adds ons before they go to dealers. But I get your point that they will have to touch them again when they could have been done.My son mentioned when he drove past yesterday there were lots of Broncos parked outside. It’s going to be months of logistical hell between the F150s and Broncos, fitting parts back on previously built vehicles and QCing them
Have you actually compared the final numbers with regard to engine RPM to MPH? They are off by less than 100 RPM usually at highway speeds... However at highway speeds, the big tires are a big negative in the terms of aero. But the BD has almost the same MPG as the sasquatch and the sasquatch has the same MPG as the badlands. The gearing and weight seems to be the much bigger culprit than the tires
100k before mine...
I could get that BD has worse MPG than the others due to all the underbody armor. What I don't get is why with the 2.7 it's then the same as the other non-squatch's, I mean it brings Base/BB/OBX down, but takes BD up??)Every time I see this I'm intrigued by how BD gets like 20% worse highway mpg than a big bend.
I don't get it either... Chargers are becoming readily available it's just people don't notice them because they are looking for them. The 1994 Lightnings Range was 200 to 273, or less if your like me. The 1999s were a little better at 294 to 367. So whats the big deal. Its easier to fill up at home. The only time it would suck is on road trips but after 4 hours of driving why not take a break.
Just some quick checks on math for a tesla 3 show 6 hours of sun on 800 watts would charge 17 miles worth of juice. A few years from now maybe these trucks got 1000 watts on the bed, roof, and hood. Its heavier than the tesla 3 but 15 miles a day seems reasonable. Aint much but its like someone coming by every day and putting in a gallon of gas. For free!I don't get it either... I only drive to Dallas,Houston,San Antonio... So all within range one way with hotels having chargers. If I make the drive out to Arizona to visit my brother it will be in the bronco.
Really hoping these solar paneled tonneau covers get the 15 mile range or so a day they are claiming. My commute to work is right around that round trip
