im looking at tow ratings, unfortunately I may be stuck with having to go with a 250. figure, I need to be able to tow the 82 bronco, after a 1-ton SAS, and 44s, and likely with some gear. So figuring 6500#s plus the trailer. and it seems that the best tow optioned 96 F-150s (last year I'd buy one) has a tow rating of 8k max. and I don't want to do so many mods that I may as well have just bought a 250, like swapping out to a 460 (did that in the Bronco), or swapping out 1 tons (again, that is what the Bronco is for....). And I don't really want to have to drive a friggen land yacht that all the non-regular cab 250s were prior to the 97/98 update w/ SCrew cab short beds.Yeah I would never buy a new diesel. Too much regulation. Im not a diesel guy(and im a cdl holder). But if I were to buy one it would be and built 7.3 or a cummins. But then again what can I actually do with a light duty diesel that I can do with a 460?
