This one works for me. I wouldn’t want it on a Bronco, but it’s not bad.

Nah, still doesn't do it for me. Especially at idle.

The Alfa V-6 is a good sounding engine. I worked on many of them.
It's a Ferrari v8 minus two cylinder so it's not too surprising

Why couldn't they put a real engine in the Bronco?

Nearest I can tell, people are buying the 2.7 because of
  1. number of cup holders
  2. better times at the drag strip
  3. So they don't have to pay attention while driving/can't drive a manual transmission.

There's been a lot of conflicting threads about the reasons people want the 2.7, but that is a succinct list.

However, on topic: EcoBoost motors seldom sound good and the Bronco won't be revved up much to try and attract members of the same or opposite sex. Still waiting for the first Ranger owner to put a glass pack on the exhaust, that will brighten my mood!
I’ll just leave this here then....

You know the sound doesn’t concern me much. What really concerns me is the cluster fuck of hoses in there. Ford engines have always been harder to work on and more stuff in that engine means more stuff that can break.

I’m happy to see the engine holding up fairly well in the F150 so far but non the less that engine does not exude confidence in me. I can only hope at this point.

The three people I met during the Bronco road show I attended assured me that the 2.7 Bronco did not have piped in fake exhaust sounds, and they should know since they are literally driving all over the country in them. However, the interior 'engine' sounds I've heard in videos sounds significantly more throaty than what the engine sounds like when outside the vehicle.
