Spoiler alert Ford doesn’t really answer with any specific detail. Basically stating the 3.0 was the right pick. I think the coyote would have been more exciting to buyers but that’s just me.

I'm going to be very happy with my V6 Raptor.
Same plus I have a coyote already to meet that need. I didnt have my 3.5TT very long but when I did it was extremely nice just doesn't make V8 sounds lol.

My wife's has a Wildtrak now and the 2.7 is a FANTASTIC engine. And I am very excited for the 3.0 as the 3.0 will behave like the 2.7 on steroids.

I'm going to be very happy with my V6 Raptor.

Wife wants a 911 Targa 4S, but I veto'ed that and we settled on an AUDI RS3.

It’s hard to argue with Ford on it because they got that 3.0L pulling similar horsepower and torque numbers as the 5.0L Coyote and it does so while being lighter and better on fuel economy.

So the justification for picking a V8 would basically be “well… it sounds better”. Not sure if that’s enough. They’ve shown on the F-150 Raptor that they are willing to completely redesign an exhaust system to avoid putting a V8 in a vehicle.

Now if they put a turbo or supercharger on a V8… well… then that would be a different story. (Would probably also raise the cost to close to $90,000.)

BTW .. The valved equal length exhaust in the GEN3 Raptor is FANTASTIC. Every time I am out driving with my 12-year old son, he is begging me to put the exhaust in Baja and the drive more in sport. It absolutely screams.

And yes, the same exhaust system is in the Warthog.

The coyote and 6,000lbs just wouldn't be very fun.

Coyote would be the wrong choice, you want Godzilla (or destroked version) 2-V head w/pushrods, long stroke low end torque. A 5.8L version of around 350 horses and 450 torque around 2800 RPM would work just fine for me

they talk about it before. MAP is not equipped to handle a V8. It would cost millions in retooling. Heck they can barely accommodate the height of the Warthog now

A V8 in the Bronco to the masses will never happen as it is too costly.

With Stellantis already announcing the end of the hell cat means other manufactures will no longer invest in the V8

That guy was not an engineer, he was a politician. Good non-answer. Lol.
