fun article And pretty spot on. Sold my ‘68 camaro 10 years ago and never looked back. My wife still gives me crap about not having it. She thought it was cool and fun but didn’t appreciate it was like having another kid to deal with. And not one on the honer role heading to Harvard either…

But when you have grown up with Broncos and you can fabricate/fix anything and it has been up graded and kept up with, you feel comfortable going anywhere. But yes, It's not for everyone.

Funny, I sold my '68 Camaro a while back also. I miss the car... I don't miss breaking down and having my wife cry as she attemps to steer us off the highway while I push.

Great read! I can totally relate with my 1971 FJ40, but no way this enthusiast is selling any time soon! Who needs brakes, or a fuel tank that isn't under the passenger seat and leaks gas under pressure if filled too high and left out in the sun :ROFLMAO:

Nice! Mine was a 123 vin with SS badging - black with vintage white stripe. I built the 427 small block i put in and was always worried it’d blow and cost me another $10k to fix. Much like my motorcycle before, happy i had the experience, happy I’m not dead, happy i have a safe reliable vehicle thats got a fun factor to too.

Totally relate to this article...1983 Mustang GLX convertible....it's a lot of fun for sure...but, crank windows??? An actual key (you don't know how many times I left them in the ignition)?? cranky vacuum actuated cruise control??? I have to actually reach over and turn the radio up...with a knob???? No A/C?????

Sounds like my 86 model, anytime I drive all I can think about is what is broke fixing to break or will break that is oblivious to me at the moment.

Funny but accurate article. I've owned my share of "vintage" iron in my life, my '67 Firebird convertible, '58 MGA, '72 MGB, '81 TR8 to mention a few. Totally relate to what he is saying. When I get that urge to go down nostalgia lane I just pinch myself and remind myself of all the $$$ and time I've spent. Better to go to car shows and talk to the enthusiastic owners about their cars.

Great article. I still own a few old vehicles. The vintage European cars, especially Porsches and Mercedes, are very costly to own. Much more costly than my American trucks. I have a 56 F100 that I bought from the original owner 12 years ago. 30K original miles. Runs like a top and very inexpensive to maintain. I love the old cars and trucks. And, I love my new Bronco. BTW, my neighbor bought a remanufactured vintage Bronco last year for over $275K. I went on the website, Gateway Bronco, and they have Broncos going for close to a $1/2 million. Crazy!
