Update to this post to actually add context.
I headed out Mt. Baker Highway and turned off at Mosquito Lake. Normally I avoid any location with mosquito in the name but being December I thought the risks of mosquitoes was going to be low.
I had scouted a route via onXoffroad to go along the Middle Fork of the Nooksack River.
I thought this might give me some views of Baker but it was too close to the base to see anything. Also there were too many trees.
There were many creeks and streams and waterfalls along the route. The road was pretty smooth but plenty of potholes.
Then I headed back to the Baker Mtn Highway and up to the ski area. Thatās a windy road. The views at Picture Lake are spectacular. Well worth the drive.
I wonāt have more time to explore Baker this visit but perhaps in the future.
