How is it not a true convertible

Because it did not have an installed softtop or retractable hardtop? Would you call a K1 Blazer or a Ramcharger true convertibles any more than you would call a Bronco with a MIC only a convertible.

While the Scout maybe retro inspired, let there be no doubt, they are chasing the Land Rover Defender buyer, not the Bronco buyer.

No word on off road capability, and I'm skeptical in that capacity, but this still looks like it could be the start of some cool competition.
