Waited 654 days to get her...only to have her taken away by someone else's inability to drive 3 weeks later

I am sick to my stomach. Finally got my baby after 654 days from placing the initial order. Had her for 3 weeks only to have someone think that a flashing yellow turn signal means "F*ck it, go!" instead of "Yield to oncoming traffic". Not sure if it's totaled or not yet. Luckily, no one was hurt. Vehicles can be replaced. People can't. Trying to remained focused on that at the moment.

Damn, sorry to see that. . I recently got t-boned by a tweaker that blew through a stop sign then took off on foot - no insurance and totaled my car. I hope yours is totaled and you get a new one - they're never the same after a wreck like that.

I had something similar happen a few weeks into ownership. The difference was that I got hit on the side in the passenger wheel that dragged down to the rear. No airbags deployed on mine. The total was around $14k or so on mine.

Being new, you might not have it totaled. It will just take a while to get it repaired. Mine was 3 months, with waiting for parts being a good portion of it.

Things I learned with the other insurance paying for things to get repaired...the body shop works for you. The other insurance is only paying the tab. So find one that you are comfortable with. Ask for a rental vehicle. I specifically asked for a truck because I didn't have anything else to haul my trailer and at least needed a bed for hauling purposes. Lastly, once everything is done and you have it back. Ask for diminished value. That is the loss in value of your vehicle because it has now been in an accident. I recommend getting an independent appraiser. I did that and was the best $350 I've spent. With their help, I got double what the insurance company was offering. Ended up being about $6300 for diminished value. Not as much as I wanted but more than they offered.

Sadly, if the airbags went off, it'll probably get totalled out. Hopefully the insurance does right by you and you get back into something soon

I am curious, did you have the Lux package? If so, it looks like you hit the other car pretty square, should have been a little time for the advanced safety system to respond. I'm wondering if you thought it helped in your situation.

Sorry to hear that. I just got hit by a lady who didn’t yield on a non protected green light. Insurance says 9500 for damage and airbags went off. We’ll see what dealership says. Drove the bronco home, other car was destroyed. No major injuries. Wondering how the depreciated value works.

Hopefully your policy has "complete replacement" or "new car replacement" on your coverage. if so, your insurance will get you a new vehicle match. Then you can negotiate for the salvage vehicle and build up a killer off roader and have two Broncos in the stall.

Nah they won't. She admitted it was her fault and she also got the citation for failure to yield.
